Newman is covering the slot. [why? ]

The resulting play is a 23 yard catch by Roy Williams.

Who do you want to put on him? Earlier in the game Roy Williams ran by Newman like he was standing still but Kitna overthrew him. Nobody on this defense can cover Roy Williams.

exactly. terrance "vastly overrated" newman? anthony "slow burnt toast" henry? aaron "old and tiny" glenn?

Anthony is the bigger, supposedly more physical CB. He should be on Williams. The question is why didn't he bump him coming off the line? Why do they never bump guys coming off the line?

henry is a good corner and i think is only slightly overmatched by williams. our coverage problems are almost entirely caused by the lack of pressure on the quarterback. henry had the initial route covered, but the lions had time to run a much longer route where williams bounced it back outside.

i still think henry should go back to playing what he used to, safety. he's way
too slow and doesn't change direction well enough for corner.

Newman was on Furrey, who, if you didn't notice had a pretty good game on us as well.

This is a game where we should have gone man on man. Newman on Williams, and Glenn as the quicker guy on Furrey. Put Henry at FS.

The Cowboys secondary plays zone for the most part which basically allows the offense to pick it's matchups. It also prevents our corners from bumping receivers.

Why we don't mix up things, play some man coverage at times, and adjust to what the offense is doing is beyond me.
