4th and 3, red zone, down 20-17 in the 4th

Garrett played for ties. McCarthy is gambling for wins.

I loved the call. It was aggressive and all the naysayers would have loved it too if it’d worked

I said it was dumb before the ball was snapped because it was dumb.

There's a time and place to be aggressive. That wasn't it. You have to tie the game there.

Never came close to scoring again.

I don't mind the gamble, I just really didn't like the play. It looked like the only option was Lamb. Also if we're gambling, why run the ball on 3rd and 6?

Having said all the above at that moment I wanted them to kick the field goal.

I cannot believe we finally got rid of Jason Garrett and our new coach probably cost us the game.

Lol probably?

Our defensive coordinator got schooled...

Kellen Moore and his plethora of weapons scored 17.

McCarthy runs it on 3rd and 6 then goes for it only to get stuffed.

They hid training camp for this?

It was the same crap different year.

Jared Goff is garbage and his coach is so good at, ya know, coaching, that he rarely had to drop back and actually read a defense.

Trash.

Pass on the FG, fail on 4th down.

Final score: 20-17

I could hear it now, "damn defense should have held them to 13!!!".

But you're right, 99 times out of 100 a FG is kicked in that situation. How they didn't see that when everyone watching knew is perplexing.

Burned us now... but I like the call...

Don’t love the route Lamb ran...

But loved the call... but I love aggressive “go win the damn game” mentality’s

So we no longer have Garrett to blame for this, but just like Goff Dak did well on play action. If you know you're OL isn't going to hold up well, I don't see why you go away from it. AFAIK the Rams always did play action on every drive. I think the Cowboys did it on maybe 3 drives the whole game.

I like McVay because he maximizes his weapons. We don't.

For some reason, the Cowboy offense dislikes prosperity. No effort to get Zeke in space, with screens or other passes, after a brief & successful experiment early in the game. Dak seems to operate better in a hurry-up scenario...but that was quickly abandoned as well. There appears to be a desire on the part of the coaching staff to establish a smashmouth offense, with little regard for what actually works.

McCarthy interviewed, admitted it was his idea, but rather than apologizing he doubled down on why he thought it was the right decision.

Yes, I'm driving the "get fat Mike out of here " bus.

So what the heck makes you think they would have won even if they tied it? Like you said, they never came close to scoring again
