4th and Inches told me Dallas would lose

How do you start the season facing your rival with a 4th and inches and not go for it?

The culture hasn't changed. This team is still soft and can't stop the run.

The defense is still trash. Now, the offense can't move the ball.
I mean if you miss it you give up great field position. But the Madden gamer in me wouldn’t care I’d rather take my chances.

Schotty has to know his team. The offense is supposed to be our strength.

If we can’t trust them to pick up literally inches. Then what are we doing?
They don’t. It’s not even a Shotty thing it’s these coaches they are so arrogant in how they coach. They believe the defense is gonna get stop. It’s stupidity to me.

Honestly, this o-line was not knocking the Giants front 4 off the LOS, so that was not going to be an easy 1st down. In the first half, most of the Cowboys running plays involve Williams having to make people miss behind the LOS. On 4th and inches, I simply don't trust the o-line to block it well enough to get the 1st down. MAYBE a QB sneak, but which center/guard gap would I trust? Neither right now.

The Cowboys running game was just not that effective when it mattered early.

On the road, with my "much improved" defense, I would have punted too.

Schotty made other key mistakes, like calling a timeout on 3rd down late in the 2nd half, saving the clock for the Giants when they got the ball back. And the offense definitely didn't look crisp, so that is on him and Dak.

Ultimately, I thought the o-line pass blocking was a bit better than their run blocking...which is ironic.

That made zero sense. 4th and inches and you decide to fake snap it and then punt. WTH are you thinking. In today's NFL if you don't go for it on 4th and inches you are a *****.

I think if you're gonna punt in that situation just punt. Dont pretend to go for it. I know that sounds stupid but psychologically it feels like you backed down. I dunno, you make a good point though. I do wonder if we had Tyler Smith we may have gone for it.
