Here's a possible explanation for that empty feeling hanging over you lately.

Michael Irvin's 4th and Long, which awarded a Cowboys roster spot to the winner, won't be returning for a second season.

I was one of the few people that watched (and enjoyed) the program last year, so it's not a good sign that it took Florio's reality TV show post today to notice 4th and Long had yet to return. We've since confirmed with Spike that Irvin's show won't be back.

If nothing else, Irvin's creation will continue to live on with Cowboys receiver Jesse Holley. The winner of the reality show scored a touchdown during last preseason, made the Cowboys practice squad, and remains on the roster.

Good riddance to that embarassment.

That show annoyed me. A bunch of ham and eggers with delusions that they are NFL caliber and one of them got a contract and is still on the team. I can't wait until he is waived. That show should have been for a scrub team, not a contender.

You didn't enjoy Michael Irvin? He is always great on television. And it's more of a "Rudy" thing. Every year the team puts players you have never heard of on training camp roster, and it's a consensus they will be cut. At least this gave you some insight on a player, and something to hope for. I like the premise of it. They could have found much more talented guys though. They did a poor casting job. Only 3 players even looked like they could make a practice squad. Montrel Jones was lazy. Hawkins was to small. Holley had the size but I doubt he'll ever play a meaningful down of football.

There are countless college guys that don't get drafted and have the size and speed, just didnt have the production. They should have targeted those guys

No, he wouldn't have. And your absolutely right. I think him calling them this and that for pursuing a dream is pretty ridiculous, to be completely honest. But to each his own.

Irvin has never been one of my favorites, so no I didn't. The show just wasn't my cup of tea.

No, I actually don't think I would have wanted to be on that show if it was for FBs. Not the way I'd want to make it to the NFL. I thought I had a legit shot before I got hurt. I am really proud to say that no one I ever blocked in my life got a hand on the QB or the ball carrier. If I had made the NFL that no longer exists and I guarantee that. So I feel blessed.

No, I actually don't think I would have wanted to be on that show if it was for FBs. Not the way I'd want to make it to the NFL. I thought I had a legit shot before I got hurt. My bad on the position, you may have told me fb before. None the less, at 25,26 you may have felt differently. I mean, what if it was the Cowboys and Tom Landry said , " Son, I like what I see from you". You would have probably had a heart attack right there, so I guess you would not have made it anyway.
