4th And Long Video Preview with Jerry Jones

I agree.
I had my doubts but after seeing that clip...
One of the things most people do not understand about Irvin was his unbelievable desire to train as a wr and his ability to push his teammates to be the best they could be.
I've just read stories about Irvin's work ethic...I want to see it and that is why I will watch this.

I'm interested in this show simply because it's football. We could watch NFLN repeats of last years' Hard Knocks, or Follies, Top 10 this or that...or we can watch something football-related that's current.

I'm going with current.

Edit: After watching the vid, there are a couple intriguing candidates.

me too, i want to watch michael irvins work ethic, what he tries to show the players, and maybe some of this attitude after jerry jones sees it will rub off on wade phillips

also you never know, you might find a gem, (as far as a gem, i dont mean a super star, but possibly a player like a bill bates or a kenny gant, a guy that could help the cowboys this year;

Show looks pretty interesting.

Does the winner just get a spot in Training Camp?

Eric Jacksons got a chance.

I can't believe he isn't in the league.

We were so damn lucky to end up with Irvin, Damn I miss that guy.

I wont be watching this farse of a show. This is nothing more than football fantasy camp and if you're not a cowboy fan, nobody else would care about this show....It's really nothing more than a slick spike production fan fantasy football show, the player that wins the show will spend about two weeks in cowboy camp standing on the sidelines holding his helmet and then he'll be cut.. This show is all hype, just like it was last year in camp when people were ranting and raving about that midget Danny Amendola being the next wes welker, haha, had a good laugh about that call!!!

Honestly, I had serious doubts about the show but after watching the preview, I'm stoked. I'll be watching.

I just gotta know why they'd put a 30 year old DB on that show??? Even if he makes it through the show, even if he makes it through training camp, he'll be at least 31 sometime during the season?

Who in their right mind would give a 31 year old ROOKIE a contract?

That said, I'll watch this in a heartbeat.

I'll be watching for sure.... Also, I sure do miss Irvins intensity. He's my favorite Cowboy...

I pretty much agree. I'm not sure how much real football there will even be. I bet it's like The Biggest Loser and all those reality shows that may have a different backdrop but in the end are all the same with the personal melodrama, overdone lighting, and forced storylines.

Just another in an endless sea of reality shows which (not surprisingly) falls short of actual reality. Irvin's show would be much more realistic if it tried to produce the best training camp prospect regardless of a specific position. Instead, the competition has been restricted to wide receivers and defensive backs only.

Sure, that will make for better 'entertainment' as far as reality show crazed fans are concerned, but the concept is being short-changed for that exact same reason. I would be just as happy seeing a unglamorous offensive lineman come out on top in a show like this as I would a skill position player. Just my two cents.

I understand your position and somewhat agree.

I look at it like what positions would Irvin really know like the back of his hand. Wide receivers...to a lesser degree DBs.

If this show gets a 2nd season, maybe he can expand the criteria. It just makes sense to me to launch the initial season based on your HOF expertise.

It wouldn't surprise me if it did expand to newer positions next season, perhaps running backs and linebackers, but it'll shock me if the show were to have more than two positions competing during an individual season. Reality shows tend to keep things as simplistic as possible, which is one reason why I don't watch them--with the exception of HBO's Hard Knocks last season and NBC 's Deal Or No Deal on occasion.
