I feel like any time we have the ball between the 40s and its 4th and 3 or less, we have to go for it.

Inside their 35 if its 4th and 1, we have to go for it.

We need TD's tonight.

(Obviously the score dictates if we kick a field goal in some situations.)

4th and 1. Maybe depending on game situation. Don't freak out and give them the ball at the 45. Saints are good but Dallas isn't playing Jesus. Play our game. Control TOP and dont give them short fields.

No. A 4th and 3 on the Cowboys own forty is a 4th quarter desperation call only.

Maybe a 4th and 1.

On their forty is a different story.

They’re going to put up big #s anyway. Pick your poison. The only way we have a shot is to score with them. Gotta go +3 in the turnover battle to have a shot.

Wouldn't do it in the first half at all. Later, in the second half would depend on the situation, other than obviously needing to go for it if the Cowboys are behind and have no choice but to go. If they are leading by a score and if going for it on the Saints side of the field would be guaranteed to put the game away, if they got the 1st or another score to add to the lead, then I could see Garrett gambling trying to go for it on 4th and short.

You don't trust a 230 lb runningback and a 240 lb quarterback to get a yard?

Dallas should be treating 3rd and 2 likes it's 2nd and 2.

Instead of passing just run it twice. If you get stuffed twice then fine but don't put it in Dak's hands.

The best way to beat them is to keep them on the sideline.

We just so happen to have the recipe for beating a team like this.

If we tried to match them point for point it would be a blowout.

The recipe for victory is have a fast start, no turnovers, and control time of possession.

Ball control and field position.

We seem to get poor field position to start drives all year long. Then when we punt, we give them good or at worse decent field position.
Can't do that tonight at all. We need to flip that around. Even if we take the ball from the 10 to the 40, punt, pin them deep. Then let our D force them to punt to flip that field.

Then a long methodical drives to slow the game, and wear down their D.

I don't care if it is a 5 yard Zeke run, or 5 yard Dak pass. Eat the clock. This is a game we may be glad there are no long passes every other play as many want so much. However, that can set them up for a few of those deep throws. But not every series.

You don't do things to make it easier on them. If it's 4th and 1, that's different than the 4th and 3 you mentioned, and on our 40 is different than on their 40. I understand your premise, and don't disagree that we will likely need to take some chances, but those chances have to be calculated and looked at individually. Making a blanket decision to go for it on every 4th and 3 or less between the 40's isn't being smart.

This aint the game for that chief....New Orleans is a team that can score on every possession i rather make em go 90 yards their bound to make a mistake or two

People need to chill. The Saints aren't gods. They're men on the other side of that line. Dallas needs to be prepared and play their game. No need to get extreme. If they do this no way should Dallas be embarrassed like Philly was.

If you do that and don't get a 1st down, you are giving the best offense in the league a short field.
f you do it and you do get a 1st down, you keep the ball away from the best offense in the league. That's way more valuable than the risk of 30 or 40 yards of field position, which the Saints can gobble up quickly. Pinning back a bad offense is more valuable, because they're much less likely to put together a long scoring drive.

I don't care about being "embarrassed." I want to maximize the chances of winning. In this game, that means adopting high-risk high-reward strategies. Yes, it increases the chances that they'll get blown out, but it also increases the chances that they'll win. Playing straight up against a stronger team is a recipe for a "respectable" loss with very little chance of victory. To heck with that.

When has this coaching staff under Garrett’s tenure, done anything that’s “smart.”
