Bad luck cowboys
Trade with the Colts and we win the AFC South.well if we did not play in the nfc east the cowboys would have probably finished 4-12 or 5-11 in any other division.

I don't see it as particularly significant. With only 6 division games compared to the 8 of past, it's just a patch of the schedule. You could be 6-0 in the division, but if you finish one game behind a team that's 0-6 in the division you're out of luck. One of the drawbacks of the 4 team divisions, IMO.
Perfection was required all season long.
- In order to win, our QB(s) had to be perfect
- If the running game wasn't perfect, we abandoned it
- Due to no pass rush, our DBs had to have perfect coverage
- Letting the play clock run down to 1 second requires perfection
- Because the defense stopped getting turnovers, the offense had to be perfect
- In order to win the division we needed a perfect 6-0 record
There was nothing perfect about the Dallas Cowboys this year. Four of our losses were by a combined 5 points, right? So close, but nowhere near perfect.
I keep seeing that 4 losses by 5 points thing and I would like to look at that as a positive, but then I look at 5 of ours wins are by a total of 20 points and all those wins were against teams with losing records. This team have me very discouraged. I think we are closer to being a 5 win team than we are an 11 win team. Next year will be very trying.
sounds like another stat record.. something we are good at
The 2005 Vikings, 2006 Packers and 2006 Panthers also went 5-1 in their division and missed the playoffs.
Bad luck cowboys
Lets be honest, a lot of teams could have gone 5-1 in the nfc this year. The skins and giants were awful, and philly was a different team when we played them earlier in the year.
