1. Your reasoning is flawed. You assume that Barber will be the only one carrying the rock, as we say in the semi-pro leagues. Barber, I hope, will get plenty of rest with Felix and Choice pounding the lines.

I never said Jones and Choice would be bench warmers... I said that Jones is officially the number one now. So where exactly is our disagreement? Do you think Barber is going to be splitting equally with Jones?

2. Doesn't everybody, including defensive ends, mature? Tony does not live in a universe where only he gets wiser and more skilled.

Right... but this wasn't a question concerning the other 31 teams and why they would be better... my question was why would the Cowboys' offense be better. Romo will be better... do you have some inside knowledge about why he will be worse that you haven't shared with us?

3. All coaches have plenty to prove. Even if he turns in stats like last season that is plenty good to become Jerra's head coach.

Once again, what do the other 31 coaches in the league have to do with Garrett's need to impress? We all know that Jerry plans for Garrett to takeover. But if Garrett's offense scores 100 points less than last season, he was obviously a one year wonder. He needs to prove that what he showed last season is just one of many... do you disagree? Are you saying that if he bombed on the offense this year that Jerry would still hand him the head coaching job next year?

4.You mention Glenn returning and then wring your hands about his injuries/knee. I sense lots of apprehension, so in that case it does not appear to be an improvement here, either.

If you have paid attention to my posts, you will notice a trend....

I believe that:

(a) Terry Glenn will be healthy and productive, but if he isn't, I'm not going to scream "doomsday", as the young receiver corp behind him can and will handle the job

(b) Patrick Crayton was not a bust, and performed very well in his first year as T.O.'s second-hand man.. (as eveyone knows that Witten is the #2 on this team anyway, and Crayton is just fine as the #3).. and he will only get better this season, and has shown no reason to assume that this is a false opinion.

(c) The young corp behind T.O. and Crayton are going to compliment the current top two just fine.

Therefore, even if Glenn isn't able to or not allowed to retake his role, I have always believed and continue to believe that we do not have a crisis at receiver as some would say.

With the assumption that Glenn does return, I do believe that we are better off with him than without. I do not think his knees are perfect, nor do I believe that he is finished because of them. On the other hand, I do still believe that the jury is still out on this issue, and that we need him and Jerry to come to a consensus first, and then assuming that takes place, we need him to have a positive training camp to reinforce this.

None-the-less, I believe that his knees are not permamently shot, nor do I think that him and Jerry are at a permanent stalemate. Could I be wrong? Of course. It's just an opinion as I clearly stated at the beginning of this thread. We all have the right to them. The facts will not be known until the playoffs.

5. See No. 2,

No please, see my answer on No. 4 as that should reinforce my opinion on the matter most clearly.

I found myself shouting more then 10 times each game we played " give the ball to barber!"

The man will take on the featue back roll with open arms and will lead the rushing attack.

I have no doubt Barber can handle being a workhorse back. The shelf life of a RB is short anyways, we were spoiled by Emmitt and his longterm greatness, but for the most part you really only get 4-5 top years out of a RB. Barber can handle that just fine.

i think jerrys thinking this offseason was, dallas was clearly the most talented team in the nfl before this offseasons signings.

so he shored up the holes

CB, and ILB

wether people think dallas needs a wr(i do) dallas was the 2nd best offense in the nfl last yr after NE. so im thinking he thinks he has the guys.

now dallas can cover teams with cb's. dallas could very well have the best nickle secondary in the nfl now. wth henry moving to the nickel safety role. i think henry should be the 3rd cb anyways. prolong his career, and keep him off the injury list. teams run 3 wr most of the time now anyways. i just think newman and adam provide dallas he best option.

I believe ROMO will cut down on his ints.

As do I. Considering that Romo threw 8 of his 19 interception in two games (Buffalo and Philly), I would certainly say that his TD to Interception ratio was much better than his stats would show.

I agree, and the people who say he won't be able to never seem to provide anything more than speculation as to why.

Well, I'm just glad that we didn't waste a draft pick on the 'nobody' receivers that were in the first two rounds of this draft. It would have been a wasted pick... and we have certainly pursued receivers in through trades and free agency, they just didn't pan out.

But then again, it's not too late as of yet... training camp is rapidly approaching, and teams that are looking to unload that 'pain in the rear' player still have a few more weeks to do so... you never know what Jerry has cooked up behind the scenes.

I don't think we need another receiver, but as I have said before, it would be nice to land a Anquan Boldin or Roy Williams to compliment T.O. (but hell, what team in the NFL doesn't want that?)

I think, as you do, that the secondary was the most glaring weakness on this team, and that we certainly made it better. Assuming that Pacman is fully re-instated, and plays as well or better as when he was suspended, we are also rejuvenating the secondary with youth and talent for the long term (when Pacman is coupled with Mike Jenkins that is).

I think we had the perfect off-season, and really an excellent draft (although, mind you, I wouldn't complain if we pulled down another receiver of course)
