5. Tyler Guyton- we all keep making assumptions that this line is going to be great. We have high expectations because we’ve been spoiled for a while with good offensive line play. However, Guyton made gains as the season went along but ultimately, he left a lot to be deisred

4.Blue/williams/sanders rotation- The running backs simply have to perform and keep us out of long distances. I still do not believe that the starter is in this roster but if we roll with this trio, they have be the bread and butter in order for our qb to thrive

3. George Pickens-I have no doubt he will perform, but a lot of this is contingent on the leadership Pickens displays when this teams has adversity. If he’s not a distraction and he performs, we are already better than last yesr

2. The number 2 corner- this position has more unknown than the running back room due to health concerns. Can a rookie come through and live up to the billing or can Diggs return to form

1. Dak- it all starts and ends with him. I don’t want to be a hater but the reality and what concerns me most about him is that he did not play well even before he got injured. Granted the roster is better but there’s a part of me that fears that we might start to see his decline due to age. Keep in mind, he is coming back from a serious, serious injury.

I think this season hinges on the offensive line, the defensive line, and Dak.

The offensive line has got to block better, and open some holes in the running game. If that happens I think there is enough talent at RB to make some things happen.

The defensive line has got to stop the run better. They cannot allow teams to run up 190 yards on them while having their way throwing the football too.

If you want to break it down to individual players, then yeah, Guyton or whoever at LT needs to be better, and on defense, Mazi needs to improve, and the ends need to be more disciplined.

They are going to miss a couple of guys on defense to start the season, so we have to get something out of whoever backs up Diggs, and Overshown.

This is a good list.

But to me the defense’s ability (or inability) to stop the run will determine the next season’s outcome. Teams that win playoff games all have a defense that can get stops when you absolutely have to have it.

I like the Pickens trade, I like Tyler’s Booker’s upgrade on the OL, and I like the addition of Jaydon Blue to the RB room. But I’m convinced this team will only go as far as the defense can be better.

I love the list. The only change I'd make is taking Pickens off of the list and adding Mazi Smith. Him making a jump and showing 1st round talent is crucial for the Cowboys defense this season.

I agree with 3 out of 5 of these. I would replace #2 corner with interior dline and ability to stop the run and collapse the pocket from those spots.

For Pickens, I don't expect him to be a leader just needs to keep his emotions in check. I would replace this one with coaching. Schotty was a risky hire and have no idea how this staff will contribute to the product on the field.

I'd switch out Pickens for Mazi too. I don't see Pickens as a big concern. Mazi is playing for his 5th year option. We'll see what his best looks like.

1. Dak
2. DT - Worst group in the league
3. Corner - Counting on Elam and Reval to replace Diggs and Lewis is a long shot. When Diggs come back, theres hope. If he comes back the same player.
4. RB - Worst group in the league. Maybe we cobble together a committee. Counting on day 3 rookies to offer significant contribution is fools gold
5. Dak
