im just kinda surprised considering we drafted connor mcgovern last yr...who played some c at penn st before moving to og.
but in fairness...that was a different staff.
im curious if anyone has dugg into who was better in college...Ruiz or McGovern?

I don't think he's the pick at all. Guys like King are using assumptions on our past behavior and then some snippets around the league to make this prediction.

They have two options at C in Looney, who was anywhere from adequate to decent at C and then McGovern, who might have a high ceiling as a C. I have serious doubts that with two C options already on the roster they'd then use the 17th pick to reach a bit to take a C.

I don't think that's a McCarthy decision...I think McClay and the scouts have solid this organization that McGovern can be a potential center for us. It will save them having to use a draft pick on a center.

Well... I have a story, I remember we taking Travis Fredrick in the first round and really wanted them to take Sharrif Floyd. DT. I was so mad... said that Fredrick was a 3rd rd pick at best and that it was one of the biggest reaches in history... famous last words..lol
