after 6 years starting Dak is who he is , an above average QB who becomes average when he can’t use his feet because he can’t read defenses or throw with anticipation

expecting him to change in 4 weeks is fools good

I don’t expect him to change. I expect to play to the level he’s shown much of his career. He’s been cold since the Denver game last season and there’s at least a small possibility he can snap out of it.

and GB not running near enough all cute pass happy cost them, that game.they have 2 very good RBs and hardly use them. seems to me the better the QB the more pass happy deep in the paybook play calls are made.the OCs are more to blame as is MOORE when Daks in..
I think it’s shared between the OC and QB. Veteran QBs are given the latitude to change plays and, in my non-expert opinion, most QBs favor passing.

As great as he was, that’s why Marino didn’t play but in 1 Super Bowl. I thought he was way too in love with passing the ball.

Dak didn’t have the latitude to change plays in 2016, he ran what was called. Same for Goff and Wentz.

Not as much as you think this is check with me audible system 2 plays go in you look at the defense choose the best one if first one is bad , qb yells kil kil kil..umm rush has also done this..they aren't changing plays but choosing the best of the 2..I say the two being chosen maybe the issue with MOORE! the game plans are an issue..
game 1 was perfect example horrible game plan, play calls were bad, abandoned the run game,. 3-4 WR sets where we were weak at WR game 1..that all on MOORE,dak has zero shot with that plan, those play calls against that defense.

We are 5 games into the season, so now it's time to look at how we have done so far. I'm going to do the Good, the Bad, and the Amazing (not really anything ugly):

The Good:
  • We're 4-1. That's very good.
  • We've beaten both Super Bowl teams from last year.
  • Our coaches, overall, are doing very well.
  • Our special teams, especially Maher, have been very good.
  • Our defence is special and can win games for the team.
  • Our oline has been better than expected.
The Bad:
  • Drops - CeeDee and Gallup have had some very bad drops
  • Kellen Moore tends to get cute when he doesn't have to do so.
  • Anger has had one bad punt per game
The Amazing

  • We're doing this with a backup QB
  • Coming into the game, our defence had held teams to 19 or less points in each of the first 4 games for the first time since 1973, we just passed that mark. Ironically, against the same team that ended that streak in 1973 (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/1973_Dallas_Cowboys_season) in the same city after playing Washington the week before.
  • We were 3-1 when we played the Rams in 1973.
  • We just past that mark by holding the explosive Rams to 10 points.

All in all, things look very good for the Cowboys. The rest of the schedule is follows: @ Philly, Detroit, Chicago, Bye, @ Green Bay, @ Minnesota, NY Giants (Thanksgiving), Indianapolis, Houston, @ Jacksonville, Philadelphia, @ Tennessee, and @ Washington.

The way that I see it, if we play as we should, we should split with Philly, beat Detroit, beat Chicago, beat Green Bay (they look beatable, and I think Rodgers might be very beat up after that game), we should beat Minnesota, and a lot of the rest of it. As I see it, if we play like we should, then I think we should sweep NY, we might drop one or two down the stretch, but I can see us going 13-4 or 12-5 down the stretch. If we can't win the division, then it should net us a very favourable wild card spot. I'd say, as of right now, we are looking very good. What say you all? With where things stand, how are we feeling?
CD makes the amazing catch. Seems to loose focus on the routine catch. Starting to piss me off. He was supposed to be a super star.

4-1 and 4-0 with Cooper Rush is a huge surprise. Everyone thought the Season was over after Dak went down and we lost to TB after a terrible performance. 1-4 and 0-5 was a real possibility.

Now the season looks really good with that elite Defense. Dak should give us more offense hopefully. He had enough time to get his mojo back. We will also have some weapons on Offense returning from injuries the next few games like Washington.

After the Philly Game, the most hard part of the schedule is likely over with two very good win opportunities before the Bye. Even with a loss to Philly chances are good we go into the Bye 6-2.

12-5 looks like a real possibility right now.

I did notice for the first time yesterday Rush “killing” more often.

The QB killing the play to the alternate one called is changing the play. They can’t change a okay entirely because if the personnel grouping and the nomenclature of a called play. The goal of the defense is to bait you into changing to what the defense wants.

I agree 100% on your assessment of KM in the opening game. That doesn’t absolve Dak if his horrendous play thought. But KM or Dak weren’t alone is responsibility for that game. That was a total team failure.

It actually does, expecting a qb to overcome that mess is on fans for having ridiculous expectations.. Its why rush is off the hook for his 76 yard adjusted QB Yards, or the offense looking pedestrian 3rd down % poor, points scored poor the O is like ranked in the 20s right now lmao..no one cares, zero expectations..

dak because of his deal somehow is supposed to overcome bad games bad team play..same with the 9er game top 5 reason we lost the first 4 effects 5 which is qb play,..fix most of the top 4 , 5 doesn't happen.. its house of cards effect,

I don’t disagree to some point, but bad play calling in no way absolves a QB of overthrowing a receiver by 3 yards on an out. Dak is not by himself why they lost that game, but he contributed to it.

QBs neither lose the game by themselves, nor do they win by themselves. They are a part of every loss and a part of every win. How much for each is where the debate is.

Your argument basically says the QB, Dak in this case, is not responsible when he plays poorly. When they win, it’s Dak, and when they lose, it’s everyone else. That’s the same ridiculous argument that went on with Romo for years.

I think the big thing is that we are focusing on running the ball more. Even if we don't win the division, our formula of great defence and great running is portable when we have to play road playoff games.
