Witten is Done
Witten deserves all the respect in the world, the man is legend. I'll forever hold his helmet-less romp against the Eagles as one of my absolute favorite football moments.
That said, it's time to move on. He almost exclusively works the short middle of the field and his lack of big-play ability means he's holding a chunk of this offense hostage.
I have no problem with his coming back this year after he felt the team was so close last year, but it's time. His decline is only further highlighted by our inept offensive scheme.
Offensive Scheme Still Hot Trash
Speaking of things that make me snort bubbles of laughter into my chocolate milk, it's a wonder any team is capable of fielding such a joke of an offensive scheme week in and week out.
The only time this offense clicks is when they hand the ball to Zeke and he becomes the scheme by improvising on the field – which doesn't require much brain power from our coaches. Even knowing that, Mo & Curly over there calling plays have other ideas.
The whole, "We refuse to run it on the goal line" thing happens every single year. I wasn't surprised it happened again against the Seahawks.
Dez Done Goofed
Dez finally gave his haters what they've been waiting for. There's no coming back now, the guy is going to get run out of town, it's just a matter of when. He had an awful game, and I have no idea what's happened to his hands, but he got the switch and now everyone is going to come out of the wood work to whip him with it.
It's not undeserved. Having a ball go off your hands is one thing, but that fumble was inexcusably lazy.
The worst part about this is that I can absolutely see this team refocusing on skill positions and abandoning a defense that is quickly becoming a strength. I think that defense is on the verge of being elite, I'd hate to see us abandon it to go back to drafting WR's and TE's again.
Brinks Truck for DLAW
Pay him. Franchise him. Hold his family hostage. I don't care.
Go Get Him
If you hear Earl Thomas express his desire to be a Cowboy and responded with "Pass." then please go lay down.
I'll bring you your rice pudding and juice box later.
