5 musts for 2018 season to be a success

We all have different ways to measure success but for me, these are musts...


1) return of O-line dominance on both the left and right side

2) chemistry between Dak and his receivers

3) Bailey must be Dan Bailey, one of the most accurate kickers ever

4) Jaylon Smith must make the jump from inspiration to top level LB'er. If Lee goes down I think J Smith can move right into the Wil spot

5) Scott Linehan must expand the play book. He has the weapons to do it too. Zeke, Tavon, a mobile intelligent QB, Bease, Hurns , Gallup and Thompson. For Scott, the same play calling with similar results should lead to one thing. GOOD BYE SCOTT LINNEHAN

I've read a lot of angst about our TE's. We can win without a great TE. Heck if TE is the key, we should have several SB's because we had a once in a lifetime TE. We can win without Witt on the field. And it appears than Sean Lee has taken over his role as leader the locker room. So for me, a great TE is not a must have it's just a "nice to have"

That's why the safety position concerns me. No, we shouldn't pay gobs of money for ET but i still think we need some dept and experience there. This Kam Kelly kid is interesting, but no experience

There is only one real thing that needs to happen for the Cowboys to be successful: The QB must play well. In the last few years, when the QB has played well, we have won 12 and 13 games per season, even with a middle of or below the middle of the pack D. When the QB does not play well, 2015, 2017, the team struggles. Not saying that Dak has be Brady or Brees, but he must be effective and keep this team in front of the chains. I think they will go back to a more simplified O like we saw in 2016 with some variations in it but they will try not to ask Dak to do to much. I think our D is the best it's been in Garrett's tenure, so if we can get quality play from Dak, this team has no limits and will challenge for the SB, this year.

I just want the Jason Garrett that we saw in 2010 coming in for the idiot Wilson. He needs to be able to get the intensity level of our players to match or exceed our opponents. All of the other stuff won't matter if they come out flat like many games last season.

That wasn't Garrett at all in that last part of 2010. That was the results of just a new face in the room as the players quit on Wade. So they rallied around their OC. Happens all the time for interim coaches. They are a spark and a breath of fresh air. We have seen Garrett's true colors since then. And that is 1 playoff win in his 7 and a half seasons as head coach.

Guarantee if we got a new staff in here, it would be a breath of fresh air for these players. We are still running out the same old tired scheme and playbook now for nearing a decade.

The players did not "quit" on Wade, he was never HC material. He failed 2 times before he got the Cowboys job. He wanted to be a nice guy and have the players like him, he was soft and he lost his job because of it .

The players absolutely quit on him. It was evident. Especially in that Packers game.

Garrett isn't even coordinator material, much less head coach material yet he's still around. Why? That's right, he's Jerry's step son pretty much. They stripped him of any sort of game calling duties over time. Because he isn't good. I'll take Wade over Garrett any day of the week. Wade had a bad 2010 coming off a playoff win the year before. Yet Garrett did the same in 2015 and he's still here. Along with a meltdown again last year.

What the Eagles did last year should make any of those moot going forward. They had a ton of injuries and to very important players. And didn't miss a beat and won it all. We have a few guys go down and we turn into a clown show and one the worst offensive teams to ever take the field.

But we all know Garrett will keep getting a pass barring a huge meltdown. Jerry is comfortable with him. He doesn't rock the boat like Parcells. He stays out of his way and allows him to be Jerry. And he was here in the glory years. And we all get to suffer because of it.

Eagles moved on from Andy Reid and Giants moved on from Coughlin and both were infinitely more successful than Garrett will ever dream about being. Coughlin won 2 Super Bowls and Reid went to one and 4 straight NFC title games.

Totally agree.... but rocking the boat to Jerry is losing money, not football games.
Winning games is a bonus to the money, not the other way around.
