I would be okay with this draft. While I like Duke Johnson, just not sure if the team would. I like the Golden choice. We need to just find productive pass rushers and not worry about how well they test.

I don't believe the main guys linked to us like Gurley, Gordon, and Coleman will be avail when we pick. So I'm thinking DMC will be our starter next year w Ryan Williams and a 3rd or 4th Rd pick backing them up.
I just mocked what I think we will do. we'll see soon though!

I thought Coleman would be gone before 60 but not 27 that would surprise

No I'm saying gordon and Gurley are supposed to be guys we'd pick at 27 but neither will be there. Coleman is projected to go in the 2nd Rd but I don't think he will be there at 60.

So I don't start a new thread...

Fanspeak 5-round mock using CBS big board:

27: R1P27
CB MARCUS PETERS
WASHINGTON
Might be the best corner in the draft.

60: R2P28
RB TEVIN COLEMAN
INDIANA
Picked him over Ajayi with news of Ajayi's injury.

91: R3P27
DE FRANK CLARK
MICHIGAN
A head case but a good DE talent.

127: R4P28
DE HENRY ANDERSON
STANFORD
Very talented DL but played mostly in a 3-4 and not sure which position he'll play. Maybe backup 3-tech.

163: R5P27
FS GEROD HOLLIMAN
LOUISVILLE
Excellent ball hawk but an awful tackler.

Replace Duke with guys we've shown interest in like Davis or Allen and then take someone else over Golden and it would be a very good draft.

I watch a lot of film on the pass rushers.

And when I say "film" I'm referring to recordings of the short shuttle and 3 cone drills.

Well, that's the thing. There are two ways to do a mock. 1) Try to project what the team will actually do.....or.....2) Select players you think would be best for the team.

I have no real interest in the former. I do one mock and it's always what I would do.

I think most fans would love the first 3 picks. 2 immediate starters in Peters and Coleman, and a rotational DE in Clark with future starter potential.

I mostly made that RB statement because I think both players are better, not just because they visited. Duke is a part time nfl player to me. He has the ceiling of an Andre Ellington type in my opinion.

Why does everybody have to do there own mock inside of somebody elses mock? Because you don't like there mock and want to show yours? It's really annoying!

Doesn't bother me at all. I think it's more of keeping the original topic going and exchanging thoughts and ideas.
I've done the same thing, hope I didn't piss anyone off!

R1 and R2 are good.

I would prefer more power to go with the group of RBs already on the roster. McFadden already provides the speed threat so there is some redundancy with Johnson. If Mike Davis is available, he would be a terrific option in the 3rd.

Thompson looks like he might be best as a Guard. If OT, he is an RT only. I don't see him being a true swing that can play both sides.

I don't see much upside with Golden. My preference in the later rounds is for high upside guys that just need time to develop.

I've seen about 1000 mocks with Coleman in the 2nd, but I don't understand the point. It seems like the possibility of him being available at #60 is near zero.

Everything else looks really good.

Clark is one of my favorite DE prospects for the strong side.

Anderson would be a 3tech, IMO.

Holliman is an interesting developmental player. In the past it seems that a lot of teams drafted Safeties that are good against the run and tried to teach them to cover better. Holliman would be the opposite. He can cover and is a true ball-hawk, but couldn't or wouldn't tackle in college.

I agree. I think it's easier to teach someone how to tackle than it is to teach them how to be a ball hawk. That's like taking a RB who's worse in every category but better in not fumbling. Just take the better RB who fumbles a lot and teach him how to hold onto the ball.

Im probably odighizuwa's biggest fan atleast on this forum. He could very well be the pick there, but i think they could also trade down and still get him too. PJ idk how to feel about him. Rather take the guy who has played in the system Dallas runs. Duke is a nice runner but id think Dallas would go after a bigger back with the same skills.
