...Jerry takes lots of input, it’s not ‘my way or the highway!’

Critics of Jerry Jones, and those fans who will still never forgive him for firing Tom Landry (yes, there are still a lot of you out there!), have the misconception that Jerry makes all the decisions on his own and doesn’t take input. In fact, it’s just the opposite. He listens to lots of input. Okay, maybe he gets too much input at times (if that can even be a criticism). Be the last person in his ear (that’s the goal of some staffers/personnel guys).

Have his decisions always been great, particularly related to some player personnel moves? No, absolutely not. The bitter breakup with Jimmy, the trade for receiver Roy Williams…fans can make a list, for sure. But for all the bad moves, there have been plenty of good ones, too. So if you criticize, give credit...

I thought he was great during the early Championship years. It seemed after that his ego got the best of him for nearly 20 yrs and that has soured most fans. In recent years he seems to listen more and the drafting has improved greatly and the salary cap mess has been taken under control.

he is one of the biggest reason the cowboys haven't been close to winning a championship in the last 21 years

I agree, but he had the balls to fire Landry, when on one else would. He brought in Jimmy and let him do his thing. He needs to get credit for those moves, as well. @haleyrules has it right. His giant ego make him think he was something he wasn't, and it took him a long time to figure it out.

Ole Tom needed to go at the time. Yes, those Championship years were great and at that time l certainly had nothing against
Jerry. In the last few years the FO has come around and are making good football decisions again and Jerry Jones must get credit for that too. So, its not all negative. The road ahead is looking much better.
