Coaching is part of the Moore Family legacy

Moore’s dad, Tom, was head coach at Kellen’s high school in Prosser, Washington. Tom won 4 state championships and 21 league titles at Prosser High School. Kellen and his brother, Kirby (who played wide receiver), thrived under their dad’s guidance. Kellen, who learned enough from his dad to call his own plays in high school, was the Gatorade Player of the Year in the state of Washington and set numerous state-wide passing records...

Moore follows in the footsteps of Jason Garrett & Wade Wilson

Just like current head coach Jason Garrett, Moore is retiring as a player and begins his coaching career at the NFL level in the position of QBs coach. In 2005 when Garrett retired after playing 13 NFL seasons, he joined Nick Saban’s Miami Dolphins staff as the QBs coach. Garrett spent two seasons with the Dolphins before returning to Dallas, where he played from 1992-99, as the offensive coordinator.

Moore is retiring after playing 6 NFL seasons for the Detroit Lions (2012-14) and the Cowboys (2015-17). He takes over as QBs coach from Wade Wilson, another former Cowboys’ backup QB (1995-97). Wilson retired in 2000 after 19 seasons as a player and began his coaching career as Cowboys QBs coach (2000-02). Wilson spent four seasons as the Chicago Bears’ QB coach from 2003-2006 before returning to Dallas where he developed players like Tony Romo, Moore, and Dak Prescot from 2007-2017...

As a Boise State fan, it's obviously hard to get my point across without seeming like a homer, but I watched him play his entire collegiate career. Kellen Moore is a good dude. He was a fabulous college QB and I think he has that good football IQ. Sure, he didn't have the physical intangibles to succeed on the NFL level, but I think he could always see the field. I think he will make a fine coach. Fans have been saying that since his BSU days. It's just in his blood.

I just don't look at Kellen Moore from a mechanics standpoint and say "yeah, that is what I want my QB to look like". Hopefully it is from a standpoint of do as I say not as I do. I think one of the more disappointing things in regard to Moore is that he never tried to improve his body. A guy with below average physical tools should be in the weight room in my opinion and trying to improve in that regard.

I don't care if he is the QB coach, heard good things about his football IQ. What I care about is his learning under Linehan and Garrett. His only NFL offensive exposure is to an offense I can not stand

I am expecting him to climb the ladder in Dallas which leads to the same ole same ole

If he reaches OC someday, will he know a different offense to implement? I think not......

Kellen Moore is a big student of the game who [as I understand] reads and researches outside his his primary instructor [Linhand].
Many students of the game do this. He understands and will teach Linhand's scheme but he he gives insight not just words.
