Quick free agency note:

I'm hoping the Cowboys will pursue OJ Atogwe at some point in the near future. So for this mock I'll assume we release Hamlin and sign Atogwe to an offer sheet, where the Rams do not respond.

1. Maurkice Pouncey, G/C Florida

If the Cowboys stay put at #27, Pouncey has to be the man. He was my pick in my last mock draft; he provides the future at center when Gurode leaves, and can immediately compete with Kosier for the LG spot. A top 15 talent at the #27 selection is great value.

2. Lamarr Houston, DT Texas

Depth behind Ratliff is needed. It's known what will happen with Spears/Bowen/Hatcher in the next couple of years, and Houston ran a 4.85 at 305 lbs at the combine. That's very impressive for a man his size, and Wade likes those quicker, powerful defensive linemen.

3. Brandon Spikes, ILB Florida

Jerry Jones see a playmaking Bradie James in his eyes. Put on the tape of Spikes and you'll see a first round talent. He'll end up being a major steal just because of his forty time.

4. Javier Arenas, CB/KR Alabama

Here's out punt/kick returner, plus he adds solid depth at corner.

5. Traded for Holland

6. Danario Alexander, WR, Missouri

I have a feeling it'll become a consistent theme for Dallas to draft WR's late in drafts. Look at Austin, Ogletree, Crayton and Hurd. All of them were basically undrafted (Crayton-7th) and we know Austin, Crayton, and Ogletree will contribute next year.

7. J'Marcus Webb, OT, West Texas A&M

An intriguing prospect who will hopefully knock McQuistan off the roster for good.

Thoughts? Comments? Hit me with em'.

i think you over drafted houston and under drafted spikes i think you would have to switch those two picks and it would be about right. arenas most likely wont be their in round 4.

I dont think Arenas is much of a corner prospect. If in that draft we took Anoka Osaha Ansah in round 2 thatd be sick.

If Arenas can just be an impact on special teams this year and hopefully develop as a corner, he could be a solid player for us in both phases down the road. I would love "AOA" as well; he's probably going to shoot up draft boards from his ridiculous 40 times today.

Maybe so; I've heard Spikes is going to fall into round 3 or 4 because of his terrible 40 times. I've heard some good things about Houston, and IMO there's a giant dropoff in defensive tackles after him.

But Im not too into DL until later this year. So to me Awasa Onuki Ansah is a better pick rd2 b/c he can return kicks from day 1 and can fill in the blanks in the secondary

Ratliffs the man and Junior is at least a JAG so we can get by w/ a 6thish rounder on the DL

i think the tape speaks for its self if you can play you can play, most teams wont be fooled.

i agree houston is about the cutoff, he is a high motor guy i love him. tolleson loved him out of high school, texas doesnt usually go out of state much but tolleson saw him and told mack they really have to get him so that really says something. mack later said he has never seen tolleson so excited about a player or adamant about having to get a recruit.
