Nice work.

Jason Garrett gets alot of grief, hopefully in the end people will all get on his side.

I heard Danny clark say today that the first time the teams played Dallas had a good scheme and it confused them and we showed them looks they had never seen before.

Keep running!

So if we run as much as some (most) people want, does anyone really believe that we'll have a 5.3ypc average?

We pass to set up the run.

What kind of idiot coordinator has the highest rushing average in team history and doesn't run it more? That's what I want to know.

I posted a thread several months ago about our rushing tandems. Too bad so few here ever heard of the duo of Don Perkins and Amos Marsh in 1962. We had a great offense that year! Unfortunately we couldn't stop anyone.

Your thread and this one are reminders of why Perkins is in the Ring of Honor. He was a great player on some bad teams.

We average 26 rushes per game.

If we added 4 more runs per game to bring it up to 30, and we gained 0 yards on every one of those 44 runs, we'd still be on a franchise-record pace for yards per carry.

I think the 5.3 is more a product of having 3 fresh backs most of the time.

3 very good backs.

Felix was averaging 8 and 10 yards a pop during his peak, then Felix got injured & the averages started falling.

Felix said he is 100% now. The running game should start producing more explosive plays again. Can't wait. *rubs hands*:D

I guess I'm a "glass is half full" kind of guy.

I can't believe we only averaged 3.6 in 1994. How did the Cowboys ever make it to the NFC Championship game that year with such an effort?

To boot, were it not for an early turnover fest, and a Deion Sanders non-call on an obvious pass interference, this team would have played in, and probably won the Super Bowl that year.

BTW, I think that was the year that Emmitt got injured against the Saints late in the season, so perhaps that is one reason for the dropoff.

He had hamstring problems alot of that season as I recall...he was still money inside the 10 and scored a ton of TD's, but he was not the same player that he was from 91-93

Perkins played on some good teams. Esp the 67 and 68 teams. He only played nine seasons.

We led the league in rushing attempts, and we also had the #1 defense.

Emmitt actually had a respectable 4.0 that year, but 100 carries split between Moose and Lincoln Coleman brought the average down.

Aikman had an 84.9 rating that year, btw
