.500 since 1997

I am not attacking the people that said these things, but rather just stating that I hate hearing such mindless drivel.

"We've got to go back and study and figure out what we need to do to be a better football team because that obviously was not good enough."

"But we've got to look at it. We've got to evaluate it and learn from it and we've got to get better as a result of it."

And its not just this team, they all do it. But I am only concerned about this football team. The above comments are what we hear after every loss. Its as if this is the standard, canned response to stop the media hounds from attacking. These things should be said during week 2 of the pre season. Not at week 10 of the regular season.

What do you want them to say? Start blaming one another?

To the Jones family, .500 is the new Super Bowl Championship.

Sometimes consistency is not the goal.

No, I want to see them accomplish what they say they are going to do after every loss so this mindless nonsense can cease. Times up. The same tired comments about having to get better just dont work anymore. Get it done. Loss after loss its the same thing. Which is why I wish someone in the media would ask Garrett, Romo, Witten and everyone else that utters the same tired cliches just one question:

"We have been hearing after every loss how you have to get better, can you give us a timeframe of when you expect this "getting better" to happen? Because clearly, you have not been successful in doing so."

Seriously. STOP. You people make one of these threads every other week. I GET IT.

You know, I joke to myself and say "haha if we go back to .500 again this season someone is going to post .500 since x again" thinking that everyone is tired of seeing it posted 30,000 times a season. I guess I was wrong.

The Cowboys are average, I get it. They are a .500 ball club. But this is the FIFTH TIME THIS SEASON that this kind of thread has been made during the week.

This is spam at this point, not anything new. It's such an eyesore and I would really appreciate it people would stop posting a ".500 since x" thread everytime our record goes up or down to .500 again. I think everyone knows our team is bad at this point.

What is our record since 1998?
What is our record since 1999?
What is our record since 2000?
What is our record since 1967?
What is our record since 1977?
What is our record since 1987?
What is our record since 2007?

These are questions that frankly, I think, we need answered.

Well I suppose it could be worse.

And if the Dallas media had a pair, they would poke harder and call them out on their canned responses. Even the media has gotten used to the routine.

Oh I know all about it. Dallas media is very soft. They lob softball after softball.

So how does this compare with the other 31 teams in the league in that timespan which you have chosen? Are you just here to complain about a .500 record and want to vent your displeasure with mediocrity in a by and large, parity league?

You forgot the standard 1 playoff win in umpteen years (always a 'fan' favorite here). Or the other gem that the Cowboys haven't won a super bowl since I was a lad or not in my lifetime yet.
