Actually not a bad idea.......levels the playing field a bit
They are rewarded with a bye.......just me but think it's excellent ideaRewarding winning teams with home field advantage is important and part of the core of professional sports. Leave it alone despite the money gains made with this aberration.

Atlanta.....Mercedes Benz stadiumSince we have next to no home field advantage to speak of, it doesn’t bother me.
Where is this game being played?
Define 'next to none'. We only lost one game at home this year and that was to open the season. All our recent playoff wins have been at home and we finally won our first road playoff game in 30 years. The past never matters, you ALWAYS want the home games in the playoffs. If we lose, oh well. Doesn't change that fact,Since we have next to no home field advantage to speak of, it doesn’t bother me.

I heard they have some other event already scheduled and hotel availability would be an issue. I think they declined it.The location of the neutral site for this game baffles me. Why not Indy - right between the two cities and up north?
Yes we do want home games, but it’s not as if we are GB or Buf which hold distinct advantages now that these games are played at the very coldest time of the year.Define 'next to none'. That'll be the norm once we have an 8-team playoff with no byes. Like the 18-game schedule with two byes, it's coming.https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...conference-championships-may-become-the-norm/
The NFL is telling us, without telling us, that neutral-site conference championships may become the norm

AT&T is one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL the quiet stuff is a mythYes we do want home games, but it’s not as if we are GB or Buf which hold distinct advantages now that these games are played at the very coldest time of the year.
We don’t play in a place where it’s difficult for opposing fans to get their hands on seats.
Our fans have a habit of being quite tame, compared to other fan bases, at times as well.
Sure we were 8-1 at home this year, but if one was to rank what home field means to each particular club, Dallas would be in the bottom third at best.
More motivation for Jerrah to not care about postseason. He can rent the stadium to the league as a neutral field facility.
