open stadium teams will not agree to this especially in chilly cities as they may never get a championship game .
It will force them to build new domed stadiums. Then football will become the great indoor sport. More weather controlled than baseball!!

If you are Bills ownership right now are you rethinking your stadium concept? Currently there is no plan for a dome. If the championship games go to neutral sights there is no way Buffalo is getting an conference championship game in an open air stadium in January. The fact that they have a window with Josh Allen where the team could make some of these conference championship games would be a huge loss of revenue for the team and community. If I'm Pegula the NFL is forcing my hand here to build a dome if I want a chance at conference championship games of any kind.

That'll be the norm once we have an 8-team playoff with no byes. Like the 18-game schedule with two byes, it's coming.
I think it's a horrible idea. If we do get an 8 team playoff, than seeding is pretty much pointless

If League wants to change anything else about the playoffs, start with seeding based on record and not divisional title. That way you avoid a 12 win team traveling to an 8 win team for a Wild Card game.

Other than that, leave it alone. This year is an aberration due to the shocking incident with D. Hamlin. Had they been able to play that game out, there would be no need for a potential neutral site game for the 2022 season playoffs.

Rewarding winning teams with home field advantage is important and part of the core of professional sports. Leave it alone despite the money gains made with this aberration.
I do think winning the division should mean something. If you rank by record winning the division doesn’t matter anymore.

I would like to see an hour special on ESPN where the top teams pick thier playoff opponent. Best record picks the team they want to play and then the 2nd best picks etc. Reset 2nd round.

Indoor stadiums are garbage
Unless you’re a fan attending a game. Texas Stadium was not enjoyable at all in an opening game with a temp of 109 like the Philly pickle juice game. Or a late season game with the temp in the 30s and rain. I didn’t attend the ND-UH Cotton Bowl with Joe Montana, but that couldn’t have been enjoyable sitting in freezing rain for the better part of the game.

Can someone explain to me why the Superbowl needs a home team? The odds of that team actually playing is very small. Is it just for the coin toss?

Since we have next to no home field advantage to speak of, it doesn’t bother me.

Where is this game being played?
We were 8-1 at home this season and 4-4 on the road. Plus 1 playoff win so far on the road.
Seems we do have a HFA.

The location of the neutral site for this game baffles me. Why not Indy - right between the two cities and up north?
Indianapolis and Detroit already had events scheduled and could not change them.
Atlanta was the next logical choice.

If the Championship games are played at a neutral site and are rotated like the SB and and the draft in different cities, why even bother having the best record other to get 1 home game, unless the add an 8th playoff team, and eliminate the bye.
Still why would it matter, we would see a lot of players rested in the last week or 2 as those games may not matter.

Keep it as it is. Why to so many want to change things just to change. As posted, once they go to an 18th game, they also may add an 8th playoff team with in a few years of that happening.
I think part of the CBA the 17th game was to be added between 2021 and 2025 at the owners discretion. Which they jumped on that right away.

But an 18th game can't be added until the new CBA in 2030. However, there is nothing saying that can't be renegotiated. But the NFL and owners just can't say, we are going to 18 games.
