I'm not worried about that as much as I'm worried about his tendency to force the ball consistently. I think thats something we are just going to have to deal with for Romo. I think hes always going to force the ball, and will have nights like this on occasions.

romo's completion percentage... worries me

So the kid plays great in 4 games ...... but when he trips up in a trap game he is worrisome.

He won the game at the end in the worst game of his career ..... that says something.

59.1 is not that far from a good completion percentage

I think 60% is considered a good rate

All I'm worried about is his confidence going into the NE game. He's usually unflappable.

Romo has said in interviews that the fact that they throw down the field so much causes completion % to go down.

to be honest, the thing that worries me after tonight is how many passes were being thrown Witten's direction that seemed to be with 5-6 Bills in the area.

he was forcing to Witten a lot tonight, and got an INT at the goal line with his 5th pick.

i think it was all just a part of this game tonight, b/c i don't remember seeing him do that the last 4 weeks, but that is what worried me more tonight about his performance.

Some wrote an article about this. don't worry about it. 60% is a decent accuracy number but with the type of offense that Garret runs it is an attacking style that does lead to lower completion percentages.

Don't worry about that.

He can't be perfect all the time.

I think he rebounds in a huge way next week.

I'm not worried about it at all....

Go and look at his 3rd down completion rate.

I think the guy loves 3rd and long.

:hammer:

I think, and it is only me, but I believe some of that hype going around might have gotten to him. All the sports shows keep talking about him fitting the ball in tight windows and the INT near the end-zone was a perfect example. Witten covered by 3 guys and he still tries it.

I am the "half full" type of guy so I think of it as being gutsy, and would much rather have that than someone who fold under pressure.

Same here.

I wasn't worried after his first 2 INTs, because he's usually unflappable like you said. But when the turnovers kept coming... man, I was just cringing every time he dropped back to pass.

I lost confidence in him, and I think he lost some in himself... at least for a little while. But it took guts to keep coming back and eventually making enough plays down the stretch to get us the W.

Romo's a gunslinger, you're gonna get games like this from that sort of QB... it won't be his last like that...

I don't think we're gonna see them often, though... so I'll take the bad with the good...

Bottom line, he's still carrying a 93.9 quarterback rating, 9th in the league; he's averaging 301.6 yards per game passing, 2nd in the league (to Brett Favre); he's averaging 8.9 yards per attempt, which still leads the league... and the Cowboys are putting up 35.2 points per game, 2nd in the league (behind the Pats)...

I'll take those numbers at season's end, and if I get them, the Boys will be 12-4 or better...

He played a wretched game tonight but did just enough to win.

That happens in the NFL, Aikman had horrible games as well, I can think of two in the playoffs, it happens. It is painful to watch but he'll bounce back, he's not as accurate as Aikman and probably never will be but frankly who was or is?

Romo makes plays other ways and the Favre comparison is appropriate seeming Favre does stinky performances a time or two a season himself.

Dallas is 5-0 even after a stinker by Romo, I think they'll be better than 12-4, I stand by my 14-2 prediction.

Romo throws passes further downfield, on average, than any other quarterback in the league -- he's constantly throwing in the 15- to 30-yard range. His completion rate is down a little, but his yards per attempt (8.82) is the highest in the league.
