26 Dalton Kincaid
TE | Utah

Early on, I was not thinking of going TE at 26. However, I have been warming up to the thought of Dalton Kincaid at 26. He'd be a nice safety valve for Dak, and he's got some deep threat ability.

58 Siaki Ika
DL | Baylor

We need a NT, and he's a big NT. He may not have had the best combine, but I don't need my NTs to be that athletic. I just need them to be able to clog the middle, stop the run, and have the wherewithal to bat down a ball that is heading their way. That's what Ika does, and he'd give us a nice rotation with Hankins.

90 Devon Achane
RB | Texas A&M

Fast running back with return ability to rotate with Turpin? Sign me up! Especially with us going to the WCO.

129 Nick Broeker
IOL | Mississippi

Nick Broeker is depth at left guard or tackle.

169 Jake Moody
K | Michigan

Replaces Maher

212 Jaxson Kirkland
OT | Washington

Gets rid of Josh Ball as he'd be improved depth at tackle

244 Stetson Bennett IV
QB | Georgia

Developmental QB that can compete for the 3rd QB spot and develop into a possible starting option.

I could live with this, not my ideal, first pick helps the offense immediately which is a plus. The Oline is desperate for a guard IMO.

Yes, however, the reason that I went guard in round 4 (apart from the fact that I would love a NT in round 2) is because I think that the guard we select is likely to be a backup to start. So, I went with Broeker because he's a player that I think makes excellent depth and should be able to start by mid season if needed. I also went tackle a few picks later to give further depth on the oline. Essentially, also making Josh Ball obsolete.

Yikes. A kicker? At 169?

Normally I wouldn't, but Moody is climbing the boards, and I do think he's the best kicker. I figured, at the very least, he'd be able to hold the spot as long as Bailey did, which would be a nice success, plus he's got a massive leg and is accurate from what I've seen. So yeah, I went kicker. Alternatively, I'd have gone with another guard or tackle in that spot (mind you, Moody was the best for what we needed at the spot on the site I was doing this mock draft) and gone with Ryland from Maryland in round 6.

Love the Draft, lots of places that it would help Dallas. Therefore, not a chance it happens.

Although i am not a fan of a TE in the first.

I'm not a fan of TE in the first overall, but I wouldn't be upset over Kincaid as well, and I didn't have a good guard option available without a trade down, and the point of this draft was to try to do it without trading. Especially since the site I used has highly unrealistic trades lol.

Why not? Kickers are rarely drafted but when they do they seem to go sooner than people think. Last year Cade York went in the 4th round, the year prior Evan McPherson went early 5th.
Especially if they are the best in their class, which Moody seems to be. So, I could see him being our 5th round pick.

My question is: do we really need a TE that bad? Ferguson and Hendershot seemed to be pretty good players.
I agree with you, and a month ago I was off the drafting a TE train, but do the Cowboys really need any position that bad? Seems like they are in great position to play the board and not reach for any position. Oline would be nice, but not a must. DB would be nice but not a must. Really it's the same with LB, RB, WR. An Edge player really doesn't feel needed but you could always find ways to get them on the field.

This roster isn't set by any means, but Jerry & Stephen have done a nice job of at least getting every unit on field to a respectable piece where if they can improve that's great, but if not we really shouldn't worry.

Isn’t Kincaid like 25? And has a bad back?
He isnt that old, but the bad back is a real thing. Supposedly he should be 100% for offseason work, but didn't work out at his pro day because of it so the risk should be taken seriously. Still I have to believe the back injury is a reason why Kincaid might be available for the Cowboys at 26, and not a reason to expect him to drop farther down draft boards. The ceiling for the guy seems to be pretty massive as he gets some NFL comps to Ertz and Kelce for his abilities as a receiver.
