Rebuilding the offensive line has continued to be priority No. 1 for the Dallas Cowboys. Tyler Smith, Cooper Beebe, and Tyler Guyton have been part of the process of helping revamp a front that at one point possessed three All-Pro players who have since retired.

Dallas’ next project? Rookie guard Tyler Booker. The Alabama product may not have been the flashiest selection back in April during the 2025 NFL Draft, but it certainly was the right move to make for a unit that needed to replace a franchise great in future hall of famer Zack Martin, even if the nine-time All-Pro is irreplaceable.

With Smith already an All-Pro, Beebe having exceeded expectations in his rookie season, and Guyton hopefully taking a positive step forward in Year 2, Dallas wants to watch their newest addition blossom upfront into the type of player they envision him to be.

Proven Pedigree

While college accolades don’t translate to success at the next level, they speak to a player’s impact and dominance at his prior level of competition. Booker emerged over his three seasons in Tuscaloosa, playing in 38 games, and was twice named First-Team All-SEC (2023, 2024), a First-Team All-American in 2024, and one recognition that any player would be most proud of, which was being named a team captain in his final season.

Zach could barely move these last few years. He offered nothing in moving opponents or being able to fully play the G position. As soon as we put someone in who could, substantial improvement.

I like Hoff but Booker should be an immediate upgrade.

C Will & Tyler B neither possessed the skills to both anchor against stronger defenders nor keep defenders from getting on their shoulder.

We should see a second year jump from Beebe.

The new interior should help make the offense fully functional again and impose their will on the other team.

This could be a sneaky great pick.
He’s played against really good competition. Many of which he will be facing again in nfl. Good competition sure helps players develop. I have high hopes for him. Our 3 inside guys on the oline are gonna be really good

Guyton is still a bigger project than Booker.

Should be a great pick ...... Kid has everything.
Hopefully it will be and I'm excited to watch him and read about him once pads come on, but he definitely does not have "everything". Foot speed and lateral quickness are not a strong suit. I'm sure we will still have a little of hybrid aspect, but from everything we hear from Adams saying he fits his scheme to his players strengths, I suspect we see a lot more of a lean towards a power blocking scheme this season...which is fine with me

Definitely, but he is still your starting LT because…well, you know why.

It’s real nice to have an All Pro LG but how did that matter if you have a turnstile at LT that got your limited mobility QBs head ripped off and gone for the year?

Hopefully Guyton has gotten it together (seems to be putting the work in) and it’s a moot point.

I hate being pessimistic but a great guard, even HOF level gives you nothing. We just need to be "solid" at guard / centre.

Best players, all pros and HOF need to be WR, LT, DT, DE, CB and of course QB.

I want badly to get back to the glory years but guard isn't it, Martin was an amazing pick 2014, maybe top 3 guard this century......so what.

Gimme a home run at several other positions that move the needle please.

Yeah watching Zack Martin and all the great guards we've had i've come to realize that its a luxury to have. You can get away with a solid one. But if you can get two great guards and a good center....your interior is tough. I love our interior. Our outside is scary.

When the Cowboys had forsaken Johnny Manziel for Zack Martin in the 2014 draft, it was said that they chose the "safest, bust-free" player in the 1st round.

Well, Zack turned out to be a little more than that.

In terms of the draft, I feel the same way about his replacement.

As far as equaling Zack's career, no Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman in their history has received as many 1st team All Pro selections and only Bob Lilly and Randy White have matched it regardless of position.

Furthermore, Larry Allen is the only offensive lineman in Cowboys history to top Martin's 9 Pro Bowl selections.

Matching that would be a pretty tall order. However, I do believe Booker has the potential to play at a Pro Bowl level and we can go from there.

I'm not a huge Booker fan, at least not where we drafted him. He's not a great mover, and I'm not sure if he's the kind of athlete who can handle Jalen Carter rushing on his outside shoulder from the 3 tech. Not a lot of guards can handle that matchup, but if you're picking one top 12, he should be the rare breed who can. I'm not seeing it.
