6 reasons Cowboys 1st-round pick should pay immediate dividends

I hate being pessimistic but a great guard, even HOF level gives you nothing. We just need to be "solid" at guard / centre.

Best players, all pros and HOF need to be WR, LT, DT, DE, CB and of course QB.

I want badly to get back to the glory years but guard isn't it, Martin was an amazing pick 2014, maybe top 3 guard this century......so what.

Gimme a home run at several other positions that move the needle please.
I agree with what you’re saying, but this draft was going to be about making the Prescott contract not looking as bad as it is. They probably wanted a WR but it didn’t happen, so they went the safe route, took an interior OL and traded a premium pick for a rental WR while not yet ready to make a deep run.

A guard at 12 when you already have one that’s a stud is questionable, but this was a weird draft. There seemed to be some depth to it but outside of the first handful of picks there wasn’t much there as far as higher end talent.

Definitely, but he is still your starting LT because…well, you know why.

It’s real nice to have an All Pro LG but how did that matter if you have a turnstile at LT that got your limited mobility QBs head ripped off and gone for the year?

Hopefully Guyton has gotten it together (seems to be putting the work in) and it’s a moot point.
I m o , Guyton was not the turnstile he had sure errors in assignment and was penalty ridden but the turnstile is the other Tackle , Terrance. He offered nothing in pass P, and also not fully back either physically or mentally from Injury to be a force in run game.

Wasn’t Guyton removed from a game for performance part way through more than once?

How often does that happen to an OL? I could be off but I’m fairly sure that happened.

I’m not saying he can’t get better, but he seems to need to if they expect Prescott to not be in a wheelchair by October.

Guyton should be required to win the LT job, not be handed it because of draft status. Players DO bust. That happens.

Steele? Well I like Guyton better, let’s put it that way lol.
