  • All NFL officiating crew must be full-time employees. No jobs allowed outside of the NFL. Their full focus should be on nothing but doing and honing their job, period.
  • Pay should be doubled or even tripled. Reduces any incentive for financial corruption.
  • All refs should be required to answer questions at the podium post-game, just like coaches and players.
  • All refs must be graded for their officiating performance by the league post-game, with grades publicly released a few days after.
  • All crew must be screened for potential bias prior to any game assignment, such as a Pittsburgh native being assigned to ref a Steelers-Bengals game.
  • The NFL should release official statements clarifying all controversial calls a few days after each game.

I like this!

They need younger officials as well. As someone who recently hit 50, I can say my eyes, reflexes etc are not close to what they used to be.

The game is too fast for some of these guys.

That doesn't solve anything, it would just give them more power than they already have.

Fully agree.

Then realty sets in and we realize that it's the way it is because they want to control games.

I'm not saying they are scripted entirely, but it was clear today they wanted a close game.

The "let's get ready to rumble" wrestling guy in the beginning wasn't a clue?

Refs we ok when they were calling back 2 TD vs the Bolts and 1 vs NE?
How about that panther fumble?
Elite players go out and win!
Enough with the crying Sally excuses.....

I like it. That said, they won't change it. Too much money to be made rigging the league. If the league was truly concerned with the officiating, they could fix it in an instant. They don't. Why? It's more money to rig the games and act shocked when the stripes are poor.

Let's get ready to rummmmmmble.

I wanted to puke. Did you hear that before the game?

How about suggestions for Cowboys to stop committing penalties?

-Bench Brown
-Bench Connor Williams

I like your ideas, but I gave up on improving officiating after seeing how stubborn refs were with challenges to PI when that was an option. The NFL likes it the way it is.

They’re not interested in improving it. The leagues loves being able to control games through officiating. And the rules are confusing by design.

Feels that way, especially now that they have people in the NFL office reviewing stuff when there is no challenge etc.

That anyone "liked" this post makes me weep for humanity.

Not really, but come on. Mistakes will always be made, just as they are by "full time" players and coaches every week.
