Was just looking around to buy some Cowboys stuff for Xmas presents and stumbled upon this:

67 Ice Bowl Team Football

I obviously can't buy it as a gift for anyone, but am hoping it is still around after Xmas, so I can possibly try to pick it up for myself!!

The finish to that game ripped my heart out. Kramer thought he was some star after that.

That hurt. Sad day.

The day I became a Packer fan for life. How many other fans know the exact day it happened for them.....The only reason I watched the game that day was because is it was cold and rainy at my house in Louisiana. If it would ahve been sunny I would have been outside playing football and might have turned into a Viking fan or worse.....

What made the Ice Bowl big is the fact that 2 teams had to endure the brutal conditions. As for the game itself it was not a thing of beauty and I hope Dallas never has to play in that type of game again. Offensive playbook was almost useless and it negated a very good Dallas offense that season.

Some folks say the reason why Bob Hayes is not in the HOF is because he wouldn't play in this game.

Some folks are idiots then because Hayes DID play in that game and caught 3 passes. :banghead:

I was not sure of his stats but what I most remember is seeing him lined up outside with his hands inside his pants. I would have loved to have faced the Pack that day in better conditions. That was ridicules with a -48 wind chill.

NM, I will acquiesce.

I remember reading in a book and hearing Galloway on the radio a couple of years back when Hayes was up for the HOF that some writers hold the fact that he didnt play or maybe refused to play later in the game against him.

I guess I read/heard it wrong.

He was criticized because he had his hands in his pockets even when running routes, basically signaling the ball wasn't coming to him.

Thanks for clearing that up.

I know Galloway said something about that on the Radio a couple of years ago when Bob Hayes was up for the HOF.

Galloway is a huge Hayes fan btw, I think he was just throwing out there what writers were saying.

The main reason Hayes isn't in the HoF was because he got busted for drugs (it was a setup) shortly after he retired. It wasn't for anything he did or didn't do on the field that's for sure.

Hayes' sister told me she had things to tell the HOF voters about that.

She's supposed to be coming to Tucson soon. I need to call her. I promised her dinner.

I consider that a bogus reason. One of the first inductees of the HOF was an avowed racist who denied Blacks on his team for 25 years, and 18 years after the other owners went against his beliefs.

Who hurt more people? Hayes or Marshall?

As I stated earlier, Galloway was saying some WRITERS were listing that as one of the reasons why they were not going to vote for him.

I am not saying that there line of thinking is correct, I am just saying Galloway said some HOF writers who vote had told him that.

I'm sure that is part of it for some of them. They're idiots. But that's not news.

Freakin' moronic writers (Peter King included). If they were playing in -48 degree weather, they'de have their hands in the pants too.

If I'm not mistaken, I think like 3 or 4 cowboys got frostbite in that game.

And they still got away with a false start to win the game.

Not to mention a bogus fumble recovery.

:hammer:

You got that right. There were both Packer and Cowboy players who were treated for frost bite and Meredith ended up with pneumonia after the game and was hospitalized.
