A plaintive plea to Parcells, re MBIII.

This guy Barber is a yardage monster.

Have him carry 20 times and lets see what happens.

MBIII can no longer be denied, man!!

Yeah, JJ is a great change of pace runner for the Cowboys.
But the Cowboys need MBIII's big-game production for the final push into the playoffs!

Can anybody guess why BP is playing mind games with the starting role? Does he believe in bad luck in tampering with the depth chart? I jus dont know. One thing I do know: Barber is THE man.

Give him his due!!!

:) not at all...

just reminds me of last season's Mavericks.... they found a lineup about a fourth into the season where they were staring 2 backups at critical positions which allowed the 2nd unit to be one of, if not the most, potent 2nd punches in the league

they won 15 or so straight games when they switched to that lineup, and they made it to the Finals (until they were robbed, which is another story)

A basketball analogy. Hmmm.
I don't follow, but that's OK, the Cowboys won.:)

indeed :)

I'm just saying that we have a decent 1-2 punch going.... even though our first punch is whiffing as of late....

ok seriously... what the HELL happened to Julius Jones...

I still think JJ is our best option at #1 running back, but it baffles me at how much he has changed as a player.

Early on, he was one of the most dynamic runners I have seen. He found open space and juked people out of their shoes. Now, he's still solid... but that's the thing, all excitement seems to have disappeared from his game.

Julius does the tough running. When the D is fresh. MB3 does clean up work and pounds them in the throat when they are down. Didn't Julius get like a 77 yard TD run last week? Didn't Julius just break 1000 yards for the season? I see where your coming from when looking at averages and how well MB3 is doing. But I think he is better saved for later in the game. Starting the game running is a much harder job. I do think he should be given the shot to start the game for the first half in the near future, I don't know if they should **** with it this year.

The guy just has a knack for the end zone, but if you look at his runs he has GREAT vision not only at the goal line, but in the open field. I mean, that first TD last night he say the hole and looked like he was going sideways toward the end zone. I just think that is God given, and some backs just have that in them. My favorite run might have been at the end of the game on that 3rd down run where he went wide, and stiff armed some Falcon and gained like 5 more yards staying in bounds and keeping his legs going.

that's a good analogy. I was saying you want Barber really fresh to be the closer, after all the D is tired out he can just start running over people. I would give him 2nd and 4th quarter loads like we have been doing and pray to God the coaches figure out what they did to Julius's vision. I think he is trying to press the safeties too quickly, but that is exactly what Parcells praised him for, so who knows.

like the saying goes, if it ain't broke...MBIII seems pretty comfortable in his role. I said this last nite. He knows he's going to get his touches. He knows he's going to be in on short yardage. He knows he's going to be in on 3rd down. He knows he's going to be in once in the redzone. He knows he's going to be in at the end of the game. It works. Don't try to fix it because then you'll have to flip flop the roles. Who wants JJ in on 3rd down, and short yardage? What do you do, not let JJ carry the ball at all? It works, and works damn good the way it is now.

If it's not broken, don't fix it.

I like the one two punch as it is. I'm still nervous about MBIII fumbling in a critical situation when he's fighting for extra yards....i know he hasnt yet, but still.

DON't talk about fumbles- KNOCK on wood- this teams RB's have had fewer fumbles then any other team in the NFL.

this again?

:bang2: :bang2:

and which of the two RB's posted a negative yardage game?
