6th round pick Jamar Wall

I think I saw he was 2nd team All Big 12...gets his hands on alot of footballs, has quite a few PD's from what I see.

I just dont get the negative garbage from some of these fans. We have a loaded team with few openings, and they are crying about guys picked in the 6th rd.

Gotta agree. It's the 6th round. Most of these guys are PS players if they even make the team. People are forgetting, this team is loaded.

Seems to fit the profile of late round DB's we've selected in the past like Ball and Reeves (long-time starters in a big conference). If Ball plays safety, we needed to pick up another CB.

He seems like a good 4th or 5th CB, plus he can play STs.

I like his size/weight as we well. Thick build.

Can he contribute in the return game?

At this point I dont think that is much of a concern after drafting Dez and AOA

It's a solid pick and he has a legit chance to take over the 4th CB spot. AOA and Ball will be used primarily as FS. Has some growth to do but dont all 6th round picks.

I expect him to stick around.

This!

Being a TT grad myself and having grown up near Lubbock, I always pay attention to the Raiders.... This kid is a player. He has a real chance to stick. Tough kid, doesn't back down, very solid ball skills and strength.

I always like to see someone get jacked up!

I think he'll be the new Alan Ball.

Ball could swing between 4th CB and Safety. I think Wall can too.

If anything we can dust off the ol' "UP AGAINST THE WALL" banner that used to hang in the endzone!

I loved Everson Walls as a player.

One of the write ups I saw said yes, and also noted he is very good on coverage teams.

I doubt he'd get any reps as a returner here with our situation now.

Thing is, I wouldn't mind seeing AOA on the KR team b/c he'll most likely be redshirting this year as a safety.

I do however, would rather NOT have Dez returning punts for us if he IS expected to contribute as a WR.

If this kid can show that he can return punts, I think that'll help his cause a lot.

But according to ESPN, he doesn't seem to have much experience....

A career special teamer if he even makes the team.

Don't love this pick, but it's the 6th rd, so whatev....

Dont say that , Jay ratliff is a 7th rounder ?

who cares?

What do you mean who cares? That's how a good number of these kids make the team in the first place.

I think he'll need to prove that he can contribute on special teams before the coaching staff even considers putting him on the field.

Good draft....and I like a good skills, hustling corner that is battle tested.

So I guess this confirms AOA will be moving to FS.

Campo confirmed that when they drafted him.

and if he doesn't make the team, so what... could be a candadate for the practice squad where Ball started out, now he's the fourth corner.
