7-9?

5-11 Campo should be comfortable with that if its going to be stupid then might as well get silly

It's difficult to envision a playoff season at this point. Maybe that equates to 7, 8 or 9 wins, who knows. But it'd be fairly surprising to see us win 10 of our last 14 at this point.
It would also have been fairly surprising for us to win 10 out of our last 14 last year at this point as well.

Point being, there's still a lot to be played out here.

That's the point, Dallas should be 2-0 at this point on paper, the Bears and Commanders will not make the playoffs and are both likely 7-9 teams just like the Boys.
Good lord dude on paper? That's the problem is that you can't do that in the NFL. That's why all this nonsense about how tough our schedule is before the season and based on last year's results is meaningless. I don't know if the Bear and Commanders will make the playoffs or not but they have shown to be better than everyone thought they would be so far.

Last year I was willing to endure 6-10 in order to get rid of Wade. The Cowboys played well and saved his job. I had some hope because of the home superbowl. I still won't be pissed at 7-9 or 6-10 if it means Wade is gone. While I like Wade as the DC he is no head coach.

and there is the silver lining. Jerry is the X factor though...and if you watched him this preseason...his maniacal desire to be center of attention is at all time high. I just dont know if he has it in him to hire someone like a Dick Lebeau...who would install football fundamentals but probably not let jerry have his clown shows on the side.

Dude, LeBeau will be 74 next year...

considering Jenkis is probably out and Houston up next (who dallas does not match up well against)....Dallas could be 0-3 heading into their bye week. That means there will be 13 games left and this is who they play:

I have them at 5-11

You would've said the same thing if anyone had posted we'd lose our first 2 games.

I know..he is old and had bad stint in Cincy...but when i watch steelers defense...its apparent it has lebeau signature on it...ultra-aggressive but sound and its 3-4. Maybe Jerry can offer Jason Garrett money to him to be Dallas DC although I think he really likes pitts.

I had Dallas at 10-6 for the season, but that included wins over the Skins and Bears.

So if we win every game left that I had given a W for, that would put us at 8-8. Problem is that I dont see us winnning some of those games now.

5 to 6 wins tops is what we are probably looking realistically............No way in hell we make playoffs now.

We just have to get a W next week and start all over after the bye.

If we lose next week though I doubt very seriously this team has the will to recover.

Houston is going to beat us like a rented mule, it is not going to be pretty.

I have to admit, I did not think 0-3 at the bye was even possible.

I know everyone's down right now, but really? 5-11? If there's anybody that looks about as bad as us, it's Minnesota, that could be a winnable game. Arizona has Derek Anderson at QB and could be in free fall mode by that point in the season. So that game is also a tossup as of right now.

I also disagree with your take on us going 1-5 in the NFC East. I think we will get at least 3 wins in the division going 3-3.

The thing I love about football over baseball is that losing early doesn't hurt you long term. In baseball it's realistic to think if you have a bad April, you might be out of the playoffs.

But this is football, 9-7 can get you in, 8-8 too depending on the parity. As we have seen time and time again in the NFC, it's a season of who's hot now, and who can get hot in December. 4-0 doesn't guarantee a superbowl, playoff spot, 2-2 doesn't guarantee one either.

Last season, the Giants were the cream of the crop for the first 6 weeks, then the ball got handed to the Saints, and then when we beat the Saints, the cowboys and Vikings took the nod. My point being is that we don't know what's going to happen over the next few weeks and it sad to see people so down and out when a win here, and a loss there puts you right back in the hunt.

I'm calling 9-7. We knew this was going to be a tough road:

i had the same prediction as you. now we have to come up with some fairly big upsets to get to 10-6.
