So many fascinating conflicting metrics between these two teams as well as everything else in general
  • As you said 8-on the road vs 8-0 at home
  • Cowboys incredible December metrics vs Packers so-so December metrics
  • Rodgers not throwing an interception at Lambeau since 2012
  • Romo basically being undefeated in games where he hasn't been injured or recovering from injury
  • Packers have turned it over the fewest times in NFL history vs the Cowboys defense generating the 2nd most TOs this season
  • etc etc

I wonder if Packers fans are conflicted about Romo.

Wisconsin produces almost zero NFL players at skill positions. Romo is a local guy made good. (Ironically, Colin Kaepernick is from there oddly enough.)

And Romo was a huge Packers fan growing up. They must see him as the Hatfield son that married into the McCoys.

Has this every happened before in the playoffs?

It's a fascinating matchup.

No, this is the first time it has happened. Will be interesting.

To me the 8-0 on the road is much more impressive. It happens way less than the 8-0 at home does and it requires much more toughness and willpower to overcome 80,000 people screaming against you.

Undefeated on the road hasn't happened a lot in the NFL, period. It says an awful lot about Dallas for them to complete the season without losing on the road.

Very, very impressive.

My sense is people from places like Wisconsin, Iowa, etc are quite proud of their tradition of pumping out great offensive lineman.

On a separate note, I saw an interesting tweet that basically said all 3 MVPs candidates have strong ties to Wisconsin:
  • Romo (from Wisconsin)
  • Rodgers (plays for the Packers)
  • Watt (played for University of Wisconsin)
  • Bonus: Russell Wilson the QB of the Seahawks play for the University of Wisconson

Not Impressive according to Packer fans, they just keep saying well look who they played on the road.

Yeah, well BS. They can keep thinking that. I don't care who you played... undefeated on the road is a big deal.

In the 2nd game of the season, Tenn was still fighting for their new coach and that defense was playing very well then. Plus, Romo still was not Romo then. But I agree it wasn't a huge road win.

The Rams had just installed Austin Davis as their QB and nobody knew how Fisher would use him. They Ambushed Dallas in the first quarter and Dallas had to fight back from 21-0 in a hostile environment to win that. It was impressive. Actually pretty similar to the Detroit game IMO.

Seattle impressed everyone.

I will give them Jacksonville and Chicago because the Jags suck (and it wasn't in Jacksonville) and Chicago had quit.

At NY, Philly and Washington is never easy, no matter what. To win big there (like in washington) the team has to be playing lights out. Getting behind in NY and still winning was very difficult.

Packer fans won't be in the least conflicted about Romo he plays for the Cowboys. Seriously doubt Cowboy fans were conflicted about Matt Stafford because he played his high school football in Dallas.

This is such a dumb argument you can only ply who the NFL tells you to play when they put out the schedule. its not like in college where the first 2 games the big schools beat up on the little schools. looking at their schedule their division schedule close to Dallas's, the NFCS is worse than the NFCW, AFCE was better than the AFCS

I would highly doubt it,odds are if you go 8-0 on the road, you are probably pretty good at home as well, so you are going to win 14,15 games.

Packer fans are the last group to seek judgement on the quality of road wins. Their team lost on the road to Kyle freakin Orton. Are you kidding me?

Read that, then I looked who they beat at home to get their 8-0 which as stated is less impressive at home:

NY freaking Jets (enough sad)
Vikings (ain't good this year)
Panthers (before they got their mojo)
Bears (Bad News Bears)
Eagles (which we beat in THEIR dump)
Pats (only legitimate win and it was only by 5 points)
Falcons (not worth a dime this year)
Lions (which we also beat at home)

Not impressed either......so I wouldn't knock the Cowboys ON THE ROAD victories---oh, and did I mention that Dallas beat Seattle while the Pickers were embarassed there. OK, nevermind.

All about matchups, execution, and big plays both negative and positive. Buffalo matches up well with GB. Better than we do on defense. Not so much on offense. This should be a good game.

Oh, and just in case someone is watching however unlikely, Tony be careful with those short outs. Teams have been jumping them for years.

This looks like it's going to be such an awesome game, on paper. I can't wait. This is what it's all about, boys.

I'm going to be a ball of nerves the night before. I might just not sleep that night.
