Philly and Detroit will get the playoff bye week leaving the West Champ or South Champ as first round for a WC Cowboys . Seattle or Az from the West or Atlanta Tampa from the South .
only # 1 seed gets a bye week now.
philly would play if #2 and would play the lowest seed, which would be dallas possibly.

Looking at the schedule, it’s quite possible that Dallas Cowboys could go on a run and end up 8-7. Maybe this is copium but at least hear me out. In the next four games, we are facing the 2-9 Giants, the 4-7 Bengals, the 3-8 Panthers and the 5-6 Buccaneers. None of these teams are unbeatable and crazier things have happened.

Win those four games and we can talk playoffs. Imagine that?
This is not impossible.

The defensive key. If Lawrence, Parson, Bland and Diggs are the best in terms of health for this run, and become the playmakers we want them to be. If Overshown stays healthy and with Hendricks make the LB unit stable and stout. If we find a run defence with a new Mazi Smith and company.

We become the #1 turnover team in the final games of the season, and have the lowest 3rd down conversion rate against us.

The offensive key. If Hoffman and the makeshift line continue to progress and find a way to keep Rush upright. If the RB unit explodes and with MM we find the ever elusive RB game that has abandoned us since the heyday of rookie Zeke Elliott and 2016.

The receivers unit becomes the league leader in YAC for the final games of this season.

Rush can't throw for more than 10-15 yards with strength and accuracy. Our TEs, slot and wide receivers have to make up the yardage difference his arm cannot account for.

If all of these things happen we could threaten the rest of the NFC with a final playoof spot...but these are really big ifs.

Agreed.

Funny because I predicted a 10 - 7 season while making the playoffs. Too bad Dak is finished for the rest of this season. I would play Will Grier some if possible.
Cannot run the ball and cannot stop the run....against teams with more than 3 wins.

The season was over before it began.....Rayne or no Rayne

Let's say Dallas wins out.

Lets say Dallas actually wins a first round playoff.

If you actually think about what that means with MM as coach and without Dak playing, man, that may mess with Jerry big time LOL

Then, MM comes back for another 3 or 4 years, Dak comes back, and we're right back at square 1 for the next 3 or 4 years? Or does the team get even better? May I ask exactly when have the cowboys gotten better

End of the day, the biggest variable is Jerry. No way around it and no matter how this plays out for the rest of the year, Jerry will inevitably screw it up.

The last 24 years, the boys made the playoffs 17 times, out of those 17 times, they won in the playoffs 5 times, only to lose the in the division game.

I agree with you. Cincy will be the test. If this team is anything they will win a home game against a team that’s been a bigger disappointment then they have been. I still think the season ended with Dak injury but let’s see.

even with the Bengals weakened on D, beating that offense is going to be a tough task.

There's no way we beat Tampa and especially Philly, and beating Washington twice is going to be a tough ask even though I don't think they are as good as their record, they are better than us.

Bryce Young and the Panthers have improved by leaps and bounds the last month and might prove to be tougher than thought but I think these teams are roughly equal to each other. I like our odds to win another game, but not anything beyond that.
