The inhumanity that is involved with illegal border crossing needs to be dealt with. We do that by having a border that is impenetrable by anything but legal accountable crossers -or- we just open up the border. Obviously we can not do the latter so the former is a bitter pill for some to swallow but in the end, it is an act of compassion that will stop these inhumane occurrences from happening. God bless the people that suffered through this ordeal. I'm so sadden by this event. It is a reminder of how urgent an issue it is that this southern border get fixed expeditiously... it really is a matter of life or death. May the souls that perished rest in peace.

I'll never understand the need for a wall when their are far better options...

Can the military patrol the southern border? Would that violate the constitution? After-all the military men/woman are getting paid either way. I would think they would rather defend their own border than continually be deployed to that mess in the middle east.

Or a high tech solution? Either way it's sad when people lose their life in situations like this just trying to get a better life...

I don't think it was said as a political comment and so your political sneering is not only unwarranted but discouraged by the forum rules. National security and supporting common human decency needs to stop being treated like a political football.
