Has anyone been able to pull that off? And for how long?

I heard it's important, so I'm trying it today for the 1st time. I've been drinking half a gallon of water a day until today, and now I'm on my 5th glass of water. It's terrible. I have to piss every 10 minutes. Well, not exactly, but you get my point.

BTW I'm not trying to pass a pee test. Just trying to get rid of some blackheads.

i drink about a gallon a day it is really easy. try getting one of those big stripes 64oz cups and filling it up. two of those are a gallon.

I heard thats actually BS. You only need to drink when you are thirsty and it should mostly be water. Unless you are working out hardcore

I drank way too much water a few years ago and it messed me up

8 glasses or 2.5 liters should be fine.

Like I said, all that water messed me up. If youre not sweating a ton theres really no point. Proceed carefully, if you feel bloated stop

I'm pissing a ton, so I think I should be good. Although I don't think the benefits of all this water makes up for all the times that I have to run to the bathroom.

Well thats the thing. I dont know the quantity but it might have been like a gallon in like an hour(?)

I think I cut my time between urinations in half. Totally sucks

That 8 glasses of water per day is bogus. No one knows where it started and it isn't true. You only need to replenish the liquid that you lose. And that is roughly 1 liter/day for the normal person. Of course, if you are working out or sweating profusely you need more. Basically, you can tell if your drinking enough by the color of your urine. Google it for the correct color. It doesn't hurt to drink 8 glasses/day. But, there is no benefit.

You can die from drinking too much water. But, you have to drink like a gallon or two in a short time, like a couple of minutes. Some lady did that on a radio game show last year or so and died. Your body has to keep a certain percentage of salt in your body. If you drink too much, you throw that off balance.

Another myth: coffee and alcohol are dehydrants. Not true from what I heard. Coffee is like 97% water. How could that be a dehydrant?

I think if you are feeling thirsty, you are already dehydrated. I know I don't drink a full 8 glasses / day, but they say that the liquid could also come from your food, not just drinks.

I like to hydrate before long runs, and have it down to a science exactly when I need to drink so that I won't need to pee during the run and I will stay hydrating during the entire run.

Eh, I guess that doesn't really answer any of your questions. My suggestions: experiment and find out what's best for you and whatever you're trying to achieve.

Yeah I've heard drinking too much water can actually be bad for you.

I started taking creatine recently and need to drink a lot of water for that, I woke up 5 times last night to piss. It's really annoying when all you want to do is get a good night of rest and you can't.

How did it mess you up?

I generally drink about 2 sizable bottles a day. Don't really know the size, just those Poland Spring bottles with the ridiculous blue sucker cap. I drink them during the course of the work day and feel fine, just gave to pee regularly which is fine with me. Unless I'm in a meeting.

Sorry to laugh but 5 times, holy cow I'd be... pissed.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to stop drinking a good deal of time before bed time to minimize having to go during sleep, how do you take creatine? Numerous times during the day?

Don't drink any caffeine, it'll make the water go right through you.

It washes out your electrolytes. It results in something called hyper-hydration intoxication I think. You need sodium and potassium for intercellular transport of just about anything and everything.

Too much water is a bad deal, but it take a lot.

I drink about 2.5-3 gallons a day since I work outside in 110* weather 5-6 days a week. I piss about 4-5 times a day. Probably just sweat out the rest.

Oh I easily drink 8 glasses per day even when it's not hot. I don't know why I drink so much water but I always have. Its actually very rare for me to not have a glass of water with me when im home or a bottle when im out.

I don't even do it to be healthy I do it because I like water.
