8 in the morning here, put a rib and brisket on. What about you

1st time in 30 years no Draft Day BBQ Party. The Draft Parties should have ended when they extended the draft from Saturday and Sunday to this B.S. week long waste of T.V. time.

However, this year I am not motivated. Micah Parson was my last big hooray. After 30 years of Jerry Dumbo GM Jones drafts, the Cowboys need to make a meaningful push to the Super Bowl (NFC Champs). That may get me back to my praying, Mel Kiper Blue Books, and Draft Scout searches. Well maybe not praying. I am not a 12 years old anymore.

Memories like the corner of my mind...
Draft Day Shot outs:
  • Tex Schramm, and Gil Brandt for no.1 1st ever draft pick Bob Lily
  • Tex, and Gil for drafting Mel Renfro, Roger Staubach, and Bob Hayes in the same draft.
  • Tex, Gil, and John Wooten for the Dirty Dozen draft.
  • Tom Landry for not making Dirty Dozen no. 1 Randy White a bust by moving him to DT.
  • Tex, and Gil for 1974 no.1 overall pick Too Tall Jones and the most successful Cowboys QB not named Meredith, Staubach or Aikman, Danny White.
  • John Wooten, for pushing to draft that fast smaller RB from Pitt named Tony Dorsett.
  • Gil, Jimmy Johnson, Bob Ackles, and John Wooten for sticking with no.1 overall pick Troy Aikman
  • Jimmy, Bob, and John for the 1989-1992 drafts.
  • John Wooten for making the trade call to the Steelers to draft Emmitt Smith
  • Tom Ciskowsi for making Jerry draft a small school OL named Larry Allen from Sonoma St. not far from where I lived in Oakley, CA
  • Parcells for drafting Ware, Spears, Ratliff, Hatcher, Witten, James, Barber, Canty and Newman from 2003-2006
  • Will McClay for making me famous when I called drafting Zach Martin instead of Johnny Football on this website.
  • Will McClay for staying focused to draft Micah Parsons the best football player in the 2021 draft.
  • To all the Cowboy Fans that used to meet with Lou Sandoval outside Burbank, CA. The Coach could not psyche himself up for this years draft.

Had to work last year on draft day. What's on the menu.
Well I don't consider it an event so I didn't plan anything.

but the way this anxiety comes from the draft

I think a bottle of Tylenol and your favorite liquor will do just fine..lol

The wife is excited for tonight as she has really started to become a football fan. So I’m going big. I’m having Wendy’s catered in to the house.

I wonder what Jerry is catering in for the staff tonight.

anybody plan on drinking tonight? Do tell.
I just picked up a Voodoo Ranger IPA mix pack. It has their Imperial and a few other good ipas.

Also I have some M-43 from Old Nation brewing in Michigan. You can’t get a better IPA than that imo. It’s absolutely delicious.

I used to drink a lot more, but since my state made possession of a certain plant legal, I don’t really at all.

But, pizza and beer on draft night just seems right.

I received me monthly stipend just in time to purchase a big roasting chicken. I also am boiling a vat o' pinto beans with a recipe from me Mexican friend (onions, chiles, tomatoes and pigs feet) with store- bought tortitillas. And, for later, beef bologna for fried sandwiches.
Life is good.
