1. Dallas Cowboys
And here we are: at No. 1 is the Dallas Cowboys. As mentioned before, a poll conducted last year found that the Cowboys are the most popular NFL team among Americans who follow football, and though many NFL fans refuted that claim in 2012, ESPN’s ranking somewhat supports it — at least in terms of overall attendance. Dallas comes in first with a total fan attendance of 1,290,328, a full 166,353 more fans than the No. 8 contender on this list. The Cowboys’ ability to attract a crowd is also reflected in its average season stadium capacity, which stands at 104.9 percent, far and away the best of any NFL team.

Dallas’ numbers are no doubt impressive in their own right, but the team’s home stadium capacity also helps its cause. AT&T Stadium packs in 80,000 people, close to the highest on this list, but Dallas fans show that if you give them the room, they’ll fill it.The team’s average home attendance was 88,531 compared to their away attendance of 72,759. That comes to an overall average attendance of 80,645 in 2012, also the highest on ESPN’s list.

2. New York Giants
3. Washington
4. New Orleans Saints
5. Denver Broncos
6. New York Jets
7. Philadelphia Eagles
8. Houston Texans

Wish that was the Power Rankings list. lol

Cowboys really do have good fans. Ive come to dislike the Philly fans the most but all of the NFC East teams draw large numbers.

What isn't stated is that a huge percentage of fans at Dallas home games are rooting for the other team. I see it every

And New York and Texas make up 1/2 of the top 8. Undoubtedly 2 of the biggest football markets.

That happens everywhere. The difference is that a lot of Cowboys fans are so quiet that opposing fans stand out.

My theory...

Jerry looked and found Texas Stadium was sometimes difficult to fill. So how would he create a stadium that could hold nearly 100 thou or more? And why?

He sells tickets to fans of other teams around the country and this is why the Death Star always seems like the other team out numbers the Cowboy fans.

Theory only, but he seems to put butts in seats.

The reason the other Nfc east teams are on the list is the fact that they get to play the Cowboys twice each year. :)

What?

Visiting fans get all those tickets on the secondary market. Most if those tickets are owned by businesses or people who bought as many season tickets in order to sell for a profit and that is what they do.

The jones family made sure to get all their seats sold up front which is April of each year when we pay for our seats. After that he nor any other owner cares who is in the stands. They found a way to take all the risk out of selling tickets.

Now, if we could just make them put down their wine glasses and make some NOISE!!!

A Cowboy game is more of a social event and a place to be seen. Texas Stadium is an over glorified art museum and shopping center. I would rather the old run down Cotton Bowl be the Cowboys home field with real loud rabid fans .

This is exactly what I was going to say, a huge portion of the stadium is opposition.

This "report" says it takes into account road games too. I can't believe Pittsburgh is not in it. Their fans travel well, almost as good as Dallas fans.

If only ever Cowboys fan at the same time would boycott at least one stadium game a year and call it "Day of Zero Tolerance for Jerra" to get Jerra to remove hisself as GM.
Yes, this is mein dream scenario.
