So, there are currently 8 QBs who make at least $50 million a year.............lets take a look at what these 8 guys have done in the playoffs.

Burrow (55).........lost a SB
Lawrence (55)........has 1 career playoff win, if you can even call it that (threw 4 picks in that win)
Love (55)................has 1 career playoff win, you guessed it, the curb stomping of Dallas.
Tua (53)..................has 0 career playoff wins
Goff (53)..............lost a SB
Herbert (52)............has 0 career playoff wins
Lamer (52).............has reached Conference Finals and lost
Hurts (51).............lost a SB

1. Out of these 8 guys, only three have ever made it to a SB and they all lost (Burrow, Goff, Hurts).
2. One guy has made it to the Conference Title Game and he lost (Lamar Jackson)
3. Two guys have exactly 1 career playoff victory in Love and Lawrence, but Lawrence needs an * because he threw 4 picks in that "playoff win".
4. The other two guys have put up goose eggs in the playoffs, Tua and Herbert.

I think this thread clearly demonstrates that playoff success is not a requirement to be among the highest paid QBs in the league.

How many of these QBs have the worst playoff record in the last 40 years?

How many of these QBs are 30+?

How many of these qbs has thrown 5 picks in their last 3 playoff losses?
What the hell does any of that have to do with this thread..................this is looking at the playoff records of the 8 highest paid QBs currently in the NFL.

If you are trying to make this somehow about Dak, move on, this aint a Dak thread..........nowhere was Dak even mentioned in this thread so move on bro if that is what you want to discuss.

Stop being dense. We know why this thread was made. Why else would we be discussing what other QBs are making?

Hmm, maybe because our own overrated playoff choker is in line for a new contract?

How strong was their surrounding cast?
How many playoff wins do they have?
Herbert has had absolutely horrible surrounding casts but clearly if he had better talent, the skills are there, so pay is based on skills more than records.

Something else they all have in common… first round draft picks. Well, not Hurts, but close.

lol. Herbert gets all of the excuses I see.

Man had Keenan allen, mike Williams and Austin ekeler. That’s a pretty good supporting cast in offense. Just watching the game against Dallas alone he missed Allen wide open multiple times. That’s just one game

And ZERO OL, defensive support, horrible OC in Lombardi.
Minor details..

It would be interesting to see the actual CAP% in the particular year they got to those play-off performances.....which is the possible issue with Dak's scenario.

It certainly indicates that these 55+ cant do it on their own....it's a shame that Dak apparently wants a shorter term contract and we have to fit in the $40m dead money, which means we dont get that ability to restructure and build that roster.

The only thing this tells me is Mahomes is very very good so being in the AFC can be problematic when he is also in the AFC. Also that the Ravens and Bengals rosters are loaded so again good luck being Herbert, Tua, or Lawrence when they just have strictly better rosters than you.

There is a reason wins are not and never have been a QB stat. This kind of lines up with that.

You aren't going to win in the playoffs without a great QB. Not consistently.

I think something entirely different. Other teams in the league are willing to commit to foolish QB contracts despite not getting commensurate results. The Cowboys made that mistake the last time they signed Dak. The prospect of doubling down on that foolishness is pure idiocracy.

Nice. Obvious gas-lighting attempt by the OP fails hard when the facts are presented beyond the weak obfuscation of key details.
So much gas-lighting from both sides. I suppose it's the answer to, or point of debate, surrounding whether having a Franchise QB (is such a necessity). Interestingly, out of that list, how many have even reached the 'expensive' years, which if Dak demands a short contract comes virtually immediately for us. with that $40m Dead Money to add on.

Fair. I do think only Goff is as old as Dak. But 50m is the going rate. I'd still trade him and start the search for the next guy.

I mean the Chiefs are the only team winning consistently in the playoffs at the moment. You could argue the 49ers as well considering that they only lost to the Chiefs last year, who fall under teams who win consistently, and Eagles 2 years ago but that was with no one left to play QB after their 4th string QB got hurt. So I guess 30 teams do not have a great QB. I am not sure I like that logic.

If that's the truth then this thread belongs in the NFL zone. Mods please move this thread.
