Projecting again without facts?

Here's a fact for you? Cowboys had the #1 scoring and yardage offense in football last year with Dak.

Here's another fact. The year prior before Dak gut hurt we had the #1 offense in NFL history. Dak was averaging 375 yards passing per game.

Take Dak out and our offense was at the bottom of the NFL with Rush.

I know you are terrible with analysis, but so what do you think will happen to the offense when Dak returns?

Duh..............I dont know. LOL

but the facts are our Rush led offense had us bottom ten or worse in scoring, thats glaring. Hope Dak infuses little energy in that area.
No, the fact is that Dak was the worst quarterback in the NFL in week 1, and since then, Rush has led comeback victories in every game since except for Philly, and he almost did it in that game, too.

Watch...the...games.

Here's the big nothingburger this is:

Week one (with Dak) - 1 interception near midfield. Really the last chance to try and make it a game. Offense goes 3 plays for 0 yards.
Week 3 - Interception at the end of the game. The offense kneels.
Week 4 - 1st Interception - :08 left in the first half. Offense runs simple run and closes the half. 2nd Interception - Late in the 4th quarter, offense gets 9 yards and kicks a FG.
Week 5 - Fumble is returned for a TD. Interception - 3:29 left in the 4th, the offense just runs it 3 times to milk clock. 2nd Fumble - 1:30 left in the game - kneel down.

So of the 7:

3 were at a point in the game where there was a kneel down (or runs one run play).
1 was returned for a TD
1 was late in the game and the offense just milked a little bit more off the clock (the interceptor even slid down instead of trying to gain more yards - which he easily could have).

That leaves a whopping 2 for the offense to do anything with. One (with Dak) they went absolutely nowhere. The other (with Rush) they didn't do much, but it was late and they didn't need to, and they were already in FG position.

So the only turnover that the offense could have done anything with, and didn't get points from, is the first.
Exactly.

This was a stupid tweet.

Yes for sure.

If the defense and ST's can get some short fields, and Dak leads to TD's instead of FG's.
I can see it now.....Dak sucks because the offenses yards are down.....

The reason they get us more short fields. For those longer drives and less 3 and outs will give the defense more rest.

Well I doubt we will need as many big comebacks and the way the defense is playing we wont need to score as much.

What do you expect? Rush isn't a great QB. Without those turnovers he got against the Rams, we easily lose that game. Thankfully the Rush era is done with.

We have to clean this up but to be honest, it was an issue last season also. We left a lot of points on the field coz of FGs or no points. Something I admired about the late Bill Walsh and Belichik teams, they were opportunists, nearly every turnover cost you 7 points.

Here's Belichick's comment(s) on turnovers a few years ago....he calls this stat and points scored the most impact of all team stats.

New England’s opportunistic defense recovered 21 fumbles and had 20 interceptions, including three in the end zone by defensive back Devin McCourty. Both of those numbers led the A.F.C. The 21 fumble recoveries led the league. The Bears, the Commanders and the Giants each had more than 20 interceptions.

Sign up for On Pro Football. Our analysis of the biggest games, story lines and athletes in the N.F.L.

“It’s taking advantage of your opportunities,” Belichick said this week. “If you have an opportunity to get it, then you need to get it. We practice them and hopefully when we get the opportunity, we can capitalize and make those count. Those are opportunities; you only get so many of them on defense. You need to capitalize on whichever ones you get.”

So since this is in essence another slam Rush, Dak will save us thread, let's look at the turnovers:

Week 1 vs. TB (1 turnover; 0 points): TB INT at their own 48 yard line; Dak led offense 3 plays (1 rush for 2 yards and 2 incomplete passes) 2 yards resulted in punt

Week 2 vs. CINN (0 turnovers): ZERO turnovers in this game

Week 3 vs. NYG (1 turnover): NYG INT at their own 36 yard line; Rush led offense 2 plays (2 QB kneel downs) -2 yards resulted in end of game win for Dallas

Week 4 vs. WASH (2 turnovers): WASH INT at Dallas 17 yard line; Rush led offense 1 play (1 rush for 3 yards) 3 yards resulted in End of Half; WASH INT at their own 24 yard line; Rush led offense 3 plays (1 rush 2 passes) 9 yards resulting in Dallas FG to go up 25-10 late in 4th quarter

Week 5 vs. LAR (3 turnovers): LAR Fumble at their own 34 yard line; resulted in defensive TD; LAR INT on Dallas 1 yard line; Rush led offense 3 plays (3 rushes) 2 yards resulting in Dallas punt while up 22-10 late in 4th quarter; LAR Fumble at Dallas 39 yard line; Rush led offense 3 plays (3 QB kneel downs) -3 yards resulted in End of Game

Week 6 vs. PHI (0 turnovers): ZERO turnovers in this game

So there was 7 turnovers by the defense this season and of those: 1 was a defensive TD, 1 resulted in a FG (late in 4th quarter with team well ahead), 2 resulted in a Punt (1 late in game with team well ahead and deep in their own territory), 1 was right to End of Half, and 2 were to End of Game

So 1 out of 7 was actually a 'stalled offense' that didn't take advantage of the turnover.....and you want to paint some type of BS 'blame Rush' thread with people supporting the posted stat without looking at details simply to espouse their 'Dak will improve on this' BS.

I said with Dak, not because of him. Though he contributed heavily as he played very poorly in that game.
He played poorly because of the **** show around him..lmao,..game 1 against that defense and a horrible game pan and execution was horrible. sure, shine up turd by dak making a few more pays and still lost the same way.. a turd is turd.. and games happen but over time we have already witnessed dak with 16 games absolutely has our Offense in the top 10 , top 5 and #1 twice. not bottom dwellers like this season!!

How many games did Dak win in 2020 before breaking his ankle scoring 32PPG 2 of 5? that what shining up a turd looks like still equal losses when the team blows the game around a QB.

There is a difference between playing poorly (which is what Dak did) and not having a productive game.
Stop making excuses. And please stop going off on tangents to do so.

Umm ditto stop making nonsense up.. sorry your hater shirt is showing. It as one game one bad team showing and? hes already proves he can keep and maintain our offense in the top 10 on sheer talent top 5 on talent around him and #1 when its humming. He doesn't need excuses, RUSH does. He shown over 5 games he cannot maintain or run top offense.

True Dak had a poor week 1 game. The reality with Rush is the offense all too often does not move the ball, we have managed to get by, to play close to the vest keep games close so that we had the chance to win. Rush will even say the wins are a big by product of the defense and their play.
I do expect more from Dak and this offense as he returns, in all honesty I had no expectation from Rush or this offense and yes they exceeded those expectation but do not confuse that with playing quality football on offense, this team has not done that. I certainly hope to see big improvement on the offensive side of the ball.

So since this is in essence another slam Rush, Dak will save us thread, let's look at the turnovers:

Under the circumstances, Rush did the best he could which is way more than we could have hoped, especially with two starts. In other words, great job.....but why is so wrong to expect Dak to be better. He'll work with a full deck that Rush doesn't have.

It's beyond silly and childish that we can't support and be proud of BOTH players' strengths w/o constantly arguing and moaning about their weaknesses. Both sides argue and fight over petty_____ to prove one or the other wrong. The truth is you both are wrong AND right but the real answer is probably in the middle (lol).

Seriously, it's odd from a bunch of grown men

Wow good stat. Terrible production. Rush was awful.

I’ve always been from the school of when you get a TO you attack. If that’s at your own 5, throw a bomb on the first play. You weren’t suppose to have the ball and you got a free possession. Take advantage of it.

God knows that's the killer mentality we don't see enough of.......our offense usually come out a normal 80-yard drive

We are talking about this year. And specifically what the offense has done with turnovers. Stay on the topic of the thread.

What Dak did last year, or the year prior, or the year prior, has exactly ZERO affect on what Dak will do this year. That is the only fact that matters. While I am confident that our O will be better with Dak, the fact is the only game we saw Dak this year, he was hot garbage.

To say 'Dak solves the issue immediately" is just wrong. We all hope he plays well. We all hope he is better than Rush. We all hope we are better in every aspect of O. But that is all we have at this moment, is hope. What we all saw on Opening Night from Dak is not going to get it done. Every QB has a bad game, let's hope that is all it was.
