QB - Aikman - Bledsoe Big strong armed QB's Intense and fiery

RB - Emmitt - JJ Similarities

WR Irvin - Key posession guys. Glenn, Crayton may be better than 91/92 WR corpse

TE Novaceck/Awalt Witten, Campbell - eery

Oline Newton, Step at C Erik W, Gogan Tuinui

Rivera Al J Flo Allen Petitti Both lines had some dominators, and were ? marks going in

Dline Haley Ware Casillas/Jones/Maryland Glover/Fergi/Spears DT/DE Lett Canty DE Tolbert/Stubbs Ellis/Coleman

LB Norton Dat - Emerging Vets in middle Vinson Smith /Als Myles/James Del Rio - Shanle

Secondary Woodson - Bates /Roy Horton/Pile KSmith Tnew 1st rounders early in careers

I see a lot of upside to this 2005 season. And an eery resemblance to that 91/92 era team....... Long way to go but this is our best team in a long, long time and its poised to get better!

No offense, Nors, but I don't see it at all.

Maybe the young depth and the interchangeable parts along the defensive line, but that's about it ...

Aikman never really did anything after 96 era - he might as well have been!

Jones, Witten have to step into the big boy shoes and the similarities are there. A little more age at QB/WR now - but Haley and Deion were not on that 2001 team either.....

The age on offense is clearly one of the biggest differences between the two teams -- a young Aikman, Irvin and offensive line, versus an aging Bledsoe, Johnson, Allen, Adams and Rivera.

..

you need to go back and look at his numbers then...

for some reason people think what we saw in that injury plagued, talent depleted 2000 season was Aikman every yr or something

David -

5 games into 91 season you would have jumped off high chair and skinned your knees. Prolly fired Jimmy Johnson and be calling for Wanstedts head. lol

And I'm his biggest fan - I saw him in 1999 in person and the decline in him/team was apparant. Not to say if he had "the team" around him in 2001+ he still could have played if healthy. But there was a collective decline in place. Happens - dynasties eventually die.

Actually, I thought Aikman looked pathetic in the 2000 season opener. Prelude of things to come.

I saw Aikman in 96, 97 twice.

Not sure if it was all on him cuz it probably was not, but he and team really played piss poor in 1999 game I saw.

That all said - if he was put back on "the team" and healthy he might have regained his form - - dunno never happened.

I agree that there may be some similarities there, but we are much older at qb, wr, o-line, and dt

Also JJ is good but he's no Emmitt and Polite is nowhere near Moose

On offense, at the four "skill" positions, we have three 30+ year old players. In no way does this remind me of the early 90's. Actually, reminds me more of the late 90's with an aging Irvin and Aikman who could still play. The only difference is that Bledsoe, Johnson and Glenn have a better team around them than Aikman and Irvin had and I won't even mention the laughable coaching we had then.

Now, on defense, yes, this definitely reminds me of the early 90's though we still have holes to fill next year at free safety and linebacker though Brady James really impressed me against the Eagles. If he could play like that every week, I'd have no problem with him replacing Dat in this defense and I like Dat a lot.
