Nice.

Can't disagree too much especially based on stats. Key has nice stats because of his consistency but I don't think I'd pick him over Moulds or Horn if I need a #1 WR. Key, Toomer and Muhammad are a push but Muhammad and Toomer have more big play potential that's why I ranked them higher than Key.

What's amazing is that each receiver in this group has a chance to retire with at least 9,000-plus yards receiving. Unless I'm mistaken, only three receivers have yet to reach that point -- and all three have at least 7,300 or so yards as it is.

Agreed. I just snuck a peek at the stats for each and that is one heck of a class. Even Kennison is over 9,000 yards and I have him ranked last!

Just curious, but how would you guys and gals rank the receivers from the '96class from first to last?

My list (based merely on gut feeling not by reviewing stats) would read:

1) Marvin Harrision (great route runner, consistent, not a burner but can get deep)
2) T.O. (playmaker, great RAC, head case, has lapses where he drops easy balls)
3) Eric Moulds (tough, playmaker, not a burner but can get deep)
4) Joe Horn (playmaker, can run all routes, has mental lapses)
5) Mushin Muhammad (tough, was Steve Smith in Carolina before Steve Smith, not a burner but can get deep)
6) Amani Toomer (playmaker, not a burner but can get deep)
7) Keyshawn Johnson (tough, good hands, slow)
8) Terry Glenn (great speed, very good hands, oft injured)
9) Eddie Kenninson (very good speed, never lived up to hype)

Exact way I would have them.

That was a great LBer class and I think that would compare very well with the 96 WRs class

Dont know if it was or not????
I just saw a pc... that compared Keyshawn ans Mushin and realized they were drafted the same year and remembered that Glenn ans T.O. came out that year also and looked into it a bit and was a little overwhelmed by the talent of that class...
If repost I appologize but I found it interesting...

Totals( and still counting)..4756...............65792..........449
96 totals...........................4407...............63686.........385

.........................................349..................2106...........64

I accept your challange and with that say that first off I think you mean the class of 88 instead of 96 lol. But it all seriousness you have to realize (which you did) that all these players from the 96 draft are all still playing while as the class of 88 are all retired. Those 7 receivers from 96 are going to put up far more than 349 receptions, 2106 yards and 64 TD's. I'd say every receiver from 96 will play at least 2 years if not more, and they will surpass the class of 88 by next year. In my opinion the class of 96 WR's are the best of all time

Actually, those stats show that the class of '96 has already passed up the class of '88 by 349 receptions, 2106 yards, and 64 TD's. The gap is only going to widen.

Yeah for the most part, but Herman Moore was an absolute stud there from like...93-97. Remember back in 95 I think it was when he broke the single season receptions record and it was like him, Jerry Rice, Cris Carter, and Isaac Bruce that all had like over 120 receptions. Irvin was up there among the league leaders as well.
