Would you have made the deal?

Seems like the Jets gave a LB, WR, 3rd and 5th rd picks for Edwards.

Not to be a debbie downer, but it makes no difference now.

True. But why would they want Hurd? Stuckey is more accomplished.

Why would they want a failure like Carpenter to play in yet another 3-4 system?

Yeah, but it also looks like the Cowboys draft picks will be higher right now.:(

I'm not sure I would have done that deal. Edwards just hasn't impressed me. I know he is on a crap team. But that doesn't have anything to do with all those drops.

Stupid Roy, had he beaten some little dude's *** a few days before the trade, we totally could have kept our #1

Yup. It would've been very smart to trade for another overrated WR who will ALSO be a restricted free agent next year if there's an uncapped year for multiple draft picks...CHAMPIONSHIP

Hey maybe instead of giving them Carp they'd rather have us take a crap on their lawn and give them a purple nurple.

Beat me to it, first thing I thought when I seen the thread.
Now we will get hit with the "we overpaid for RW11" again.
That too is in the past.

Wonder how many times the Herschel Walker trade comes up on Viking boards? :)

Would I have made that deal if available? Yes.

I think Roy and Braylon would be a pretty nice #1 and #2, not that it matters cause I doubt the finances would have worked and our problems go way deeper than WR talent.

once again Jerry giving up a 1st, a 3rd and a 7th round pick for Roy Williams looks even worse.

Exactly what I was thinking. If I had to pick (and it has nothing to do with how Williams is performing now), I would pick Braylon over Roy any day. But that is just me and I don't know much about being a GM and have never been in the same locker room as Braylon who might develope into TO #2.

Now that Crabtree and Edwards are off the market, looks like Jerry's other option is Matt Jones. The good news is that if he decides to go that route, all it will cost is money. There will be no over payment of draft picks.

The cost is controversy, media scrutiny, lack of confidence in the current receiver corp, desperation, and dare I say... chemistry which has been so delicately managed this offseason.
