Let me start by saying a bunch of my friends call me a front runner but it is not true. I just happened to switch over at the right time. I was extremely spoiled from the beginning and took for granted what a great team it was, but I quickly became a HUGE FAN. Here is my story.
I didn't really follow football much when I was younger. Baseball and Don Mattingly was my biggest sports interest. I just started following football a little around 1990-1991 at age 10/11, became a giants fan( influenced by friends, and lived 10 mins from giants stadium) enjoyed LT but still was never really into football like I was baseball.
Then the bet that changed my sports life forever happened. Three or four days before the 1992 opening game between the cowboys and Commanders, my friend came to me with a $5 bet. He said "Iwill take the cowboys", and me not following football much said "the Commanders just won the Super Bowl, I'll take them for sure.....your crazy".
I will leave it at this.........That night, I believe it was the Monday night game, for the first time I watched a football game in its entirety......the end.
