If you think back to the early 90's when the salary cap was implemented, it was bad for the Cowboys. That change in the FA system thinned out our roster and allowed the weak to take from the strong. It helped to kill a dynasty and bring along parity. I'll always believe that we would have had 4 or 5 SBs without that change. Good teams simply couldn't hold on to their talent - at least not all of it.

Fast forward to this offseason. As much as we would all have liked an All-Pro o-lineman and free safety, we have not lost ANYONE. This is a great time to be a good team. Under that salary cap system, we would surely have lost players and been unable to add much to our roster (due to cap restraints). Instead we keep this very talented roster and get to build through the draft. The weaker teams don't have much of a free agent pool to choose from and have to rely almost solely on a draft to improve their teams (which likely need more than a couple of rookies to get them over the hump).

As bored as we all are right now, I though it was a good time to appreciate a big positive about this offseason.

Now when is that draft gonna finally get here?!
