There is no doubt that the Green Bay Packers are not the same team the Cowboys beat in Lambeau Field back in October 30-16. Green Bay was 3-2 after that loss, and won the next week over the Bears, but then lost the next four games, at Atlanta, home against Indy, and at Tennessee and Washington, leaving them 4-6 and in third place in NFC North.

At that point, Aaron Rodgers said the Packers could “run the table” and still make the playoffs. The Packers accomplished that feat by winning their next seven games in a row.

Who have they beaten in that time? And what is the run-pass makeup of those teams?

The Cowboys defense will have serious issues trying to stop Aaron Rodgersand their offense.

But the Packers defense have their own serious issues trying to stop the Cowboys offense. This fact seems to be largely ignored by many so called experts.

That and the fact that Rodgers can't beat us sitting on the bench, we have the ability to control the clock.

"When they have faced a team able to average more than 23 points per game this season, or in the top half of the NFL in scoring offense, the Packers have lost every time. (Points per game and NFL rank in parentheses).

  • Oct 16, lost at home to Dallas (26.3, #5) 30-16.
  • Oct 30, lost in Atlanta (33.8, #1) 33-32.
  • Nov 6, lost at home to Indy (25.7, #8) 31-26.
  • Nov 13, lost at Tennessee (23.8, #14) 47-25.
  • Nov 20, lost at Washington (24.8, #12) 42-24.
Green Bay, given how hot Aaron Rodgers is, will certainly be a formidable opponent for the Cowboys, who will have to find a way to slow down the Packers’ passing game. But the Packers will also be facing by far the most formidable offense they have faced since their winning streak began, and one that was missing Dez Bryant during the first matchup. So we’ll have to see which team has its hands full."

The Packers are only good because of Aaron Rodgers. You tell me those receivers are that good? Honestly top to bottom that's an extremely average team. They will go as far as he takes them. If he's not on fire throwing dimes all game they won't beat us.

The most important thing this defense will need will be lane discipline and outside contain

With these we can stop their run game and keep Rodgers in the pocket

The problems will start if some if the DL try to become heroes. Just do your job!!

You can tear down Dallas' 13-3 record like that, too.

I see two pretty evenly matched teams, but I give the nod to Dallas.

The two most significant factors that will determine the outcome of this game are obvious yet (mostly) ignored:

1. Dallas is at home (Green Bay's D gives up 28 points away from Lambeau, Dallas gives up 19 at home)
2. Dallas is rested and fresh, GB has been fighting for their playoff lives for 2 months

I see a competitive first half-- but I think the physicality of the Dallas OL and ground game separates the teams in the 2nd half and we start controlling the trenches, the clock, and ultimately we will choke them out and win the game.
