I know there has been a lot of criticism about the show....I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. I like the Mojo moment, I loved MMs speech, I loved the advice that LVE had for Parsons, the relationship between Quinn and Parsons seems great...the vasectomy talk is not out of the ordinary, coaches banter with their players is a trust builder. Many that are critical may have an agenda or have never been in a locker room. I was on a football field for close to 40 years. I loved it!!
BTW, MM may be over weight, according to Skip.....it's not easy for a big guy. I'm 6'4" and weighed 265 the last year I played....I was 270 when I became a head coach and AD. Worked 90 hours a week during the 16 week season and about 65 hours a week in the off season. I spent every spare moment with my wife, daughter and parents... I didn't have time for a work out. I ballooned to 340 lbs during my coaching days. Leaving for work at 5:30 am and getting home for dinner at 9pm will have that effect. I've been retired for 5 years and I'm back to 265.

I agree for the most part. I thought the mojo moment thing is very corny but every coach has something similar they do it just a different spin on it but since I don't like Austin Power movies, I could live without it. To be honest, I am a little concerned about the relationship wth MM and Dak. I get the sense they don't get a long as well as they would like for us to believe. But the sample size was very limited and who knows if Hard Knocks wants to create that drama to drive the hype but it will be something I keep an eye on over the next few weeks. I too thought the message LVE was giving Parsons was good. I do think they could do without all the F bombs, seems forced, much like Garrett was in an attempt to relate to the young guys but still, seemed over the top.

6'4, 265 pounds of twisted steel and sex appeal! Lol

Hey I don't agree with that LVE told Micah. Manu Ginóbili played every possession like it was his last. He would dive on the court getting a loose ball while we was up by 20. A fierce competitor will do that. You don't take off plays, IMO. EVERY play could possibly be yours to make.

The f bombs are pretty natural on the field. That tells me that they aren't holding back, but I agree. No need for them. MM and Dak are fine, Dak needs to be on the same line as Moore. I think they're good. Hope I'm right

Well said, Coach!
:starspin:

LVE was basically telling him to keep his responsibility. If he over pursues trying to make a play, he will leave an opening.

I always appreciate your special insight as a successful former HC. Keep the good information coming.
Thank you....I used to try to contribute, but some on here would criticize me for being a HS coach.....so I just went to my one liners.....I was HC of two top 10 teams in the state of Texas and I was being talked down to by some keyboard wannabes.....I hope to contribute a bit more from now on.

I really like Quinn… seems like a really passionate guy who is easy to relate to bc he cares about his players

Dak and Zeke were great. I can see why everybody likes Dak…. Loved his “I’m not coming out of this $&@“&” comment lol

At the end of the day— they gotta bond through adversity and trial and want to fight for each other. I think we have more dogs on this roster than we have had in a while— hopefully it translates to Ws

That's beautiful! Want to fight for each other. I used to tell my players, you have to want it more for your teammates than you want it for yourself.

I second the motion about Manu.
But like Ranching and ninja stated earlier, LVE was advising Parsons regarding his position on the field in relation to his responsibilities. He could have worded it better; IMO, LVE was not telling him to ease up\ not go all out.

HS football is as big as the college game in Texas and bigger in parts of the state. Some top notch coaches head those HS teams, quite a few could be successful at the higher levels.

I get it my diet sucked. worked went to practice. Ate supper around 8:00 and had a beer or two. I had a desk job and sat on my butt all day. was 255lbs. Now 177lbs again. We need to leave Mike alone and just judge him on his leadership.

Said the same in another thread,, I thought it was really odd that LVE would say that,, would have been a much better take if he would have just been high 5vn Parsons and saying good job.

-----I loved MMs speech

With all due respect coach, that's where you pretty much lost your credibility with me.

Thanks for the insight. I agree about the weight. I'm a big guy as well (6'4 and when I was in college and working I was about 250) but now I have an easy schedule and I workout regularly and I'm still 210 eating clean and working hard.
