From the 50,000-watt tower, that, when in doubt, offers thoughts as close to proximity as the supreme truth or t least what the word on the street is. Partly cloudy today and highs in the mid-50s with intermittent thought processes in Farmers Branch.

Good morning!:) Despite the loss, it's good to be a Cowboy fan.

*I was wondering, boys and girls: Where did MBIII go on Saturday? What a role reversal! Jones is everywhere and MBIII is an afterthought. I guess Parcells was saving Jones for the playoffs! Albeit a short run in the playoffs.

*I agree with Kitna: Bradie James did seemed lost Saturday. And for that matter, also during many games.

*Bobby Carpenter did my heart good. Proud the way he is improving every week!

*If Zimmer is fired, wonder if he will -- finally -- speak up as to what happened to the defense. You see, he's been muzzled all year by order of Parcells. Now, at least, he can defend himself.

*Someone here had a great idea last night. I cannot recall the young'un who brought it up, but please step up and say "hey" and identify yourself. The idea was to move Henry to safety. Intriguing idea. Of course, that was contingent on finding a capable CB to take his place.

*Upon further review, Witten's forward progress seemed to have put him in first-down territory. The ref who ran up to the spot indicated he did make the first down. But that is all elementary now.

*Man, that Ellie Mae Manning seemed tentative Sunday. Those media and fans will be all over him from now on.

*I'm no fan of Madden, but he observed that the Cowboys didn't know enough to attack the Hawks weakness. The secondary. I know, it's elementary, but the Dallas coaches didn't seem to grasp the situation. I think he also observed that T.O. is better suited to midfield slants and NOT the sideline-thread-the-needle-passes over the shoulder.

*Has Glenn/T.O.'s totals been lower this season? Seemed as if the pass was discouraged.

Well, that's it, Cowboy fans.:) Hope you kin answer some of deese questions that need answering.

Go Cowboys! Can't wait for the draft, FA, QB camp and the real camp.

Witten did not get the first down. I thought is was clear from the replay. I was hoping Dallas would hurry and snap the ball. I was dissapointed they even threw the ball to Witten in that situation. He is not very good at breaking tackles or scoring around the goal line. If anything, he should have made sure he was inside the 1 yard line when the ball arrived.

Yeah, he should have ran to the marker, but the throw was also high and made him extend pretty high to catch it.

Drafting a CB during Day one seems like a good idea, or early day 2. OL is also a glaring need. Another QB wouldn't hurt either because Drew isn't staying with that salary.

Zimmer can't be fired. His contract can only be renewed because his contract is up.

The absolute best view of the Witten progress was had by the referee who spotted the ball. Period. Any other view was not conclusive as to where the ball should have been spotted. The other view was from the endzone camera, not a straight line to where Witten was. There was NOT conclusive evidence as to where the ball was or was not. To say that it did not make it to the one is not possible from the replay.

I think they tried to attack deep in the first half, and whether they were not open or if Romo was hesistant, I could not tell. I do know this though, when they started throwing shorter passes Romo got into a much better rythm and they started moving the ball.

The ref that spotted the ball didn't have the down the line angle when Witten's forward progress was stopped. He was running down the sideline and had to guess where Witten was when the defenders started pushing him back. The camera angle also was not straight down the 1 yard line either, which favored the Cowboys and yet with that slight off set, it still looked as if Witten did not reach the 1 yard line.

Henry to Free Safety?!?!?!

Now there's a novel idea. AND fresh.

I will say to above, on the Witten spot, the placement after the review seemed too far against us. I thought he was closer.

That is what Al Michaels was saying, too. I agree with that and it still looked short.

He had to take what they were giving him. I believe if he would have been inside the 1 yard line, he then will be closer to the defensive players. Then they could have stepped in front, knocked the ball down. Maybe, but I doubt if they could have intercepted it. Could have drawn an illegal contact or PI, but can't take that chance. So he had to take the route to make the catch first. Seahawks just defended it well. Maybe Dallas was thinking this play is designed for one defender to be in that area, but Seattle had 2 instead.

If anything, they should have ran him into the endzone before making his cut.

Until and unless the NFL decides to put a camera looking straight down the line of gain at the first down marker, it's ridiculous to overturn the call on the field.

Definitely it was still short. I was just thinking on the subsequent scramble and coming up short, might have made a difference there. That's the only relevance.

If we got the better spot who things hoyte coulda punched it through bull rush style and got at least the first down?
Not saying it woulda been a smart call but in the end it woulda been a moot point.

Good point.

I thought Dallas should have called a time out before the kick. It was a pretty important play and it would have been good for eveyone to settle down and make sure they were all on the same page. Until the ref came back and overturned the ruling on the field, they were prepared to run another offensive play. Call time out and discuss some possible scenarios. That was my only problem with that ill fated attempt. That and Romo letting it slip out of his hand. :D

And Fasano not blocking Babineaux at the LOS...those two plays are excellent grist for meaningless off-season dissection.:)

Fasano hasn't done anything all year.
