First thing is that the defensive line now has to start taking over games. We have to win up front, they have to pressure Brady and quarterbacks going forward. It's too bad we still don't have Gregory, we really could have used him here. Looking forward to the Bye week so that we can hopefully come back healed up, rested, and at full strength on passing downs with Hardy, Gregory, Mincey, and Crawford.

It'll be exciting to see what our linebacker corps can do at full strength. It might take a while for these players to mesh together, but hopefully it will be what we're all hoping it can be given some time.

On offense we have to run the ball, simple as that. Without Romo and Bryant you would think we would lead the league in rushing attempts, but here we sit at 17th in the NFL. That has to change and it has to change today. No longer do they have Lance Dunbar who they can rely on for 1st downs every time, you're going to need to give McFadden a real chance to be the main back here, and you need to give Christine Michael some carries, especially in goal line and short yardage situations.

We should have won the last two games and I feel that the coaches didn't put the players in position to win. They need to re-establish an identity on the ground, especially if without Romo and Bryant. They need to use mismatches to have success in the air. Witten, Escobar, and Beasley should be featured. I'm interested in what Mayle can offer, but have to wonder why they didn't think it would be a good idea to bring in a veteran like Reggie Wayne. I think Mayle could be a very poor man's Dez Bryant. It will be interesting if he can help us move the chains since it doesn't appear that we can rely on just Terrance Williams. I'd like to assume that he will be active, but there is no guarantee of that, and I have no confidence in Street or Whitehead.

Today is like the 3rd preseason game. Get some people reps, try to stay healthy and get prepared for the post bye game vs NY. No way we have a chance to win this so use it as a glorified scrimmage. Personally I'd play Weeden for a quarter and let Cassell play the rest.

I wouldn't go that far. I've seen the Patriots drop games to teams they shouldn't have, and I do think that with Hardy and McClain, this defense could be elite. I just don't know if they will be elite today or three or four weeks from now.

Good post GB...Dallas has to win on both sides in the trenches. Not just in this game but going forward. The OL needs to play up to its lofty standards. The DL at near full health needs to set a high standard for itself in stopping the run, getting to the QB and getting the D off the field on 3rd downs. That formula works with or without Romo and Dez.

LOL

Break Brady's leg from the first series, then we will have a chance.....J/K....

This game, will be all on the Defense to put us in a position to win, or keep us ahead if we get ahead. They will need to be perfect.
I think get to Brady early and often. Pressure him, and keep him under pressure.

We get Hardy and RoMac, Lee will play. But I also want to see this new kid, Irving. Sounded as if he came in last week, cold, and played well.
Here is a link to Mickey Spagnola's article. Good read.

How novel. This account with an anti-Cowboy bias.

That was a nice write up on Irving. I like the mention of a Dallas Wednesday regular season practice was tougher than any he had been through with KC during training camp. Being from Iowa I was familiar with his story and saw the game a couple years ago vs Iowa that someone posted the highlight clips from. I feel the need to say that Iowa won that game btw ;-) I've been to VEISHEA (the Ames party that is referenced) a couple times...it can get pretty out of control.

This whole season has looked like the preseason... they are stuck in preseason form... Thinks its best to keep expectations low,,,the offense will still face 8man fronts and don't expect Hardy and McLain to be the saviors on defense....they will help, but fans need to keep things in perspective.

Hardy has not played a regular football game in 14months.
McLain has not played a single snap in any game since last year.

Love the underdog role this week. Good opportunity for this team to surprise us all and grab some momentum going into the bye week....

Not hoping for Brady to get hurt, but Krama at play would have him lost for the season in a game he wouldn't be in if the suspension had been upheld.
