A Couple Of Things To Think About With New WR Group

Having a new WRs coach comes with different teaching methods and different ways of using the WRs. It also comes with new WRs with different strengths and weaknesses. Changing the way a team uses its WRs also asks the QB to adjust to the new implementations.

1. Take notice to how the coaches deploy the WRs during games.

It's not just the different skill sets of each WR. It's also how the coaches decide to deploy the WRs during a game. I don't remember what year it was, but Andy Reid got too cute for his own good. Every other play he had players coming on and off the field. Aside from there being no flow of the offense, it was really hard to watch. It lasted about 3 or 4 games IIRC.

2. It's not just the WRs and what routes they run.

Each WR (include TEs and RBs if you want) only has to know his own route and adjustments. The QB has to know every receivers' routes and adjustments on every given play. You don't want your QB thinking about each receiver and each route, and every adjustment each is going to be making on any given play.

3. Consider that one of Dak's weaknesses is throwing downfield outside the numbers.

Dez's declining physical attributes combined with Dak's weakness of being consistently successful throwing downfield outside the numbers makes for a bad offensive combination. I'm thinking DCs will run their defenses the same as 2017 until Dak proves to be more consistent with that type of throw no matter who the outside WRs are.

To many changes or seems that way to comprehend all what could happen. What could wrong, what can go right as well.
This WR question not just about the players but the schemes as well, alomg with the TE’s will be interesting to see how it plays out in TC.

And yes, a lot will depend on Dak and if he has improved in the areas he needed to work on. But that also is dependent on the OL and if Smith stays healthy.

Having Zeke back and knowing he will be there each week for sure also helps.

It all has to work together, so not really concerned with each player knowing their routes. It execution as a team is a concern. It that is what TC is for. Get all that worked out and get the timing down.

Dez often ran his routes incorrectly which often caused him to run into other WRs path which also screwed up their routes. It's one reason they started giving him more go routes.

Dez does not have a problem throwing downfield outside the numbers if the WR is not Dez.

This is garbage. This WAS how it was and is NOT how it should be. EVERY receiver should be able to run every route and know every position. They should have the ability to be moved around, switch locations and positions and still do as good a job. This is how you keep the defense off balance.

NOT certain guys ONLY running certain routes. Keeping a guy like Dez ONLY outside.

And there has been ZERO evidence that Dak cant throw outside the numbers. LOL. More garbage. Might as well throw this thread in the toilet.

I didn't say he couldn't throw outside the numbers. I said throwing downfield outside the numbers is a weakness. He can do it. He doesn't do it often enough to be a consistent threat doing it.

Not every receiver can run every route from every position. And keep in mind, while moving everybody around to different positions, you're also running the risk of stifling your QB.

Its not a weakness. Did you make that up?

Im sure the QB's were getting very frustrated that Dez was left out on an Island against the #1 corner every game with no movement. No doubt they felt stifled that they couldnt get him matched up on a LBer in motion in the slot.

Poor Dez. All the talent in the world and he was surrounded by horrid Garrett and his dumbed down offense. And now we find out that our WR coach didnt even teach route running. LOL

This team will never progress far enough until Garrett is gone.
