From the behemoth of American broadcasting with a 50,000-watt transmitter of truth, justice and the Armenian Way, Air Cowboys America is on the air!
Located in Farmers Branch, where we pine for the 1950s when SOME people knew their place and property values were a lot higher than today.

:starspin :starspin :starspin :starspin :starspin

Men, as you all know I've been a Cowboy fan since 1957 when a jobless and worried man by the name of Tex Schramm came to me with a ridiculous idea to form a football "club" in Dallas.

Ha! We already had the Dallas Texans coming. But I digress, what a mess, I confess I was dubious and filled with doubts about that plan.

Years later, after FIVE Stromboli Trophies and greats like Landry, Jimma, Staubach, Aikman, Fellows and Smith strolled through here, a mighty man by the name of Jerra came to town to build two dynasties.

His newest dynasty is what we have today.
A team loaded with great players at EVERY position. And I salute Jerra!!!

Oh, did I say EVERY position?

All winter and all spring I scanned the waiver wires, the FA wires, the AP wires the wire hangers in cousin Bud's closet. But nothing about a QB.

Yes, it's been said before.
We lack an honest backup to our great boy Tony Romo.
Think about it: We are one hard tackle away on Romo from being dependent on old man Brad Johnson. One play. One tackle. A season down the tubes.

Even if we get us another backup (not a third stringer) today, he'd be behind on the playbook with only limited snaps in camp. but at least he'd be mobile (I hope) and young.

How can jerra build this wonderful team without giving us a credible QB???? Who has his earlobe on this one?

I want to know and I am sure you want to know.

My native village, Farmers Branch, wants to know also, so they can dedicate the corn harvest to the new backup QB.

But so far, my fellow villagers will have nothing to celebrate except the lack of corn mold.

WE NEED A DECENT SECOND-STRING QB!!!!!!!! I need a Shiner Bock!!!
Someone let me keep Hope Alive and Jive and on the Thrive as Jessa Jackson would say.

Does anybody see any hope for our getting someone other than Brad as 2nd String???

I know all the other Super Bowl contenders are set at the backup QB position.
Brady goes down, Cassell can git er done.
Peyton injured you say? Jim Sorgi is a pro-bowler waiting to happen.
Eli breaks a leg? David Carr is a Number 1 pick, and he's just been sandbaggin.
Not only does Green Bay have Aaron Rodgers (Zero games started) poised to lead them to the big game, but they have equally experience Brian Brohm champing at the bit to throw for 30 TDs.
Chargers have Billy Volek behind Rivers. Might as well place your mortgage on them if Rivers goes down.
And the Jags have Cleo Lemon, who only needed to get out of Miami.

Am I bein rude?

No, not rude, you bring up an excellent point vis a vis (I learnt that from TV the other day) other teams.

But with all due respect, pepe, my brother from another mother, I don't concern myself with who is backup in GB, SD, Jville, etc.

But I do concern myself with the critical QB backup situation OF MY TEAM.
Like I said, one false step by Romo or one bone-crunching tackle of our QB and we have good ol Brad to lead us to the Super Bowl.

The only ray of hope I see there is that...well...he HAS done it before. Our offense would be slowed but if the defense is as advertised Brad might just be adequate.

I too would be much more comfortable with a younger guy with a more lively arm but you don’t find guys like that on the waver wire if they are as good as you are asking for. I’d rather have Brad’s savvy than a strong arm with a weak mind.

The point is, no one is going to be a favorite to go to the Super Bowl if they lose their starting QB. That kind of QB depth doesn't exist in the NFL.

Right on point.

Patriots lose Brady? They are a sub-par team lucky to break .500

No Manning in Indy... The #1 WR battle between Harrison and Wayne is a mute point to discuss...

It doesn't matter what team we are talking about, no second string QB in this league that is o-so-shallow in the QB talent department is going to be a lock for a Superbowl if they lose their starter.

So I think the point GimmeTheBall! is trying to make is that the Cowboys are in the same boat as every other Superbowl hopeful team... which means that this thread has no point.

Thank you for your time.

I dont think, as stated in prior post's that any of the above teams would be able to ride the b-ups all the way to the S-bowl..........but what they have is the possibility of winning 2 or 3 out of a 4 game month long stretch, that would keep them in the playoff hunt, maybe even out of a wildcard game....giving the #1 guy time to get back from a injury...........a season ending injury of brady, Manning etc etc....culls that team out of a contenter position

Now can B.Johnson win a couple of games in a 4 game stretch......I see opposing secondaries being able to play up so tight, they could get 10 in the box vrs the run.......dunno

I think you meant "literary" skills... either way, I just didn't people to take your use of the term literal, literally. :p:
