Hello, my friends.

For those of you who know me, you know I am quite the optimistic fan. I tend to look at the positive side of things. That being said, this is probably about the most negative post you'll ever see from me.

This team is an absolute hot mess. The injuries are simply at a point where they're too much to realistically overcome. I have conceded that this season, for all intents and purposes, is over.

We cannot win without the best players on our team. I'd like to reiterate that any team with this string of injuries would not be able to effectively win games.

We have been/are down 5 of our top 10 players. Romo, Dez, Lee, Scandrick, Hardy.

We've lost/been without several guys in the 11-20 range. R. McClain, T. McClain, Leary, Mincey, Gregory, and now Dunbar.

We've had a few players in the top half of the roster trying to play injured. Witten, Carr, Martin.

This team has been battered to the likes of which I can not remember a team EVER sustaining the amount of injuries to their top players like we have.

This coaching staff has been hugely ineffective at adjusting to deal with these injuries; though it's hard to grade them, because I'm not sure what coach(es) out there could.

That being said, there are a few things that are really frustrating to me that are completely unrelated to the injuries.

Why is it that Morris Claiborne has gone this long not knowing how to study film? Have the coaches never sat down with him the past few years to see what he's getting out of film? How many other players do we have that can't study film?

As much as it hurts to say this, I think Sean Lee should really consider hanging up the cleats. He is an amazing football player, but he is completely unreliable. It would not surprise me at all if he decided to call it quits.

I really thought the running game would be okay after Murray left. The lack of success is in the shoulders of the OL and the RBs. It's been a total failure up to this point. The OL has been bad. Boy, was I wrong.

Yeah. Next week we get 2 players back in Rolando and Hardy. Color me unexcited. They are both going to be rusty for at least 2 games. I won't count them as "plus" additions until at least week 8.

I really wish Weeden hadn't played as decently as he did, because he just bought more time as the starter. Weeden is simply not good enough to be even a bus driver.

On that note, I feel like there are several players that are playing just barely good enough to not lose their job. There are a lot of bad football players on this team and that is concerning.

The play calling has been uninspired, boring, and flat. You can win games with good players and a simple scheme and playbook. You cannot win games with bad players and a simple scheme and playbook. So far, the play calling has been cowardly and sickening. When Christine Michael came in on that play, I wanted to throw up, because I knew they were going to try to pound it up the middle, and apparently, the Saints knew it too. That play had a zero percent chance to convert. It made me sick when they did exactly what I thought they would and gave him the ball. That is about as bad as you can call that situation as a coach.

I am losing faith in this organization's ability to handle adversity. When people are healthy, we can beat any team in the league. As soon as a few (albeit large) wrenches get thrown in the system, the staff folds. It's painful to watch.

Most of the players are playing with passion and drive, but ultimately, we are getting out-coached and out-talented.

If this is what the team looks like without Romo, then it'll be a long 5-10 years when he retires, because this team is going to have a hard time winning anything.

We have to address (or at least try to address) this issue in the next draft, that's all there is to it. We also have to stop throwing dez routes to TW.

I agree. This organization needs to get serious about the QB position. Romo has afforded them the luxury to practically ignore it, but that time is over.

This season so far has been a lesson in how thin the margin of success vs. failure in the NFL is. A team can easily go from first in the division to last if they lose a few key players. That is why us fans should enjoy evey win no matter how bad we played. We will win again....soon....I hope.

My Packers friends/family members had this realization big time in 2013.

All I've heard for years was how incredibly deep the Packers were, what a genius Ted Thompson is, how their roster is brimming with more talent than everyone else, etc etc, etc.

Obviously there is <some> truth to the fact the Packers draft well, etc... HOWEVER

When Aaron Rodgers missed 8 games in 2013 the ugly truth was laid barren to all Packer fans. The Packers went 2-5-1 that year when Rodgers broke his clavicle (Would have been 1-6-1 except the Cowboys blew a giant lead to Matt Flynn and lost a game they had no business losing) and literally the Packers looked like the worst team in the NFL.

All of a sudden a what had been considered Top 5 coach in Mike McCarthy starting looking like an idiot as his team fumbled / stumbled through loss after loss.

You got to see how good/bad players REALLY were when they didn't have a great QB who is worth 21-24 points himself every time he stepped on the field and Packer fans found out the ugly truth that a lot of players that they were really good were just OK or marginal at best.

The NFL has become, more than ever before, an unbelievably QB driven league. The Cowboys are going through what the Packers went through in 2013 when Rodgers had the same injury as Romo. It will take incredible effort each week and all you can do is look one game ahead and figure out how to win it.

The whole experience is very humbling for a franchise.

I'd say 1st or 2nd rounds for this coming draft are set for a QB.

If it were 10 years ago, Sean Lee would have finished that game, and we'd barely be talking about it.

If you watch the Red Zone channel, there are constantly concussions occurring all over the league.

With no Romo, there's no chance to really play well offensively. All you can ask for is a gritty backup who's all in to win with everything he's got. That's not Weeden.

I'm hanging my slight hopes on the fact that none of the other teams in our division look to be ready for prime time, so if we can hang close until Romo returns, we may be able to win a weak division and be picking up steam just in time for the playoffs. My hope is faint, but it's still there....barring further significant injuries, of course.

Mr Rozelle, we have parity. And a cap on depth.

So, any team can rise, and any team can fall.

We have to play within this system, and the FO has done a nice job of asset management.

Expect the 'Boys to be stronger at season's end, and the injury/fatigue factor to plague other teams by that time.
I still think we'll win the division at 8-8, and go into the playoffs with an even chance of success.

FWIW, I sure am glad that some our fans are not playing or coaching -- they probably would just give up and drag their teammates down with them.

So if we take 3 QB's in the first 3 rounds we knock that down to 30% chance of flames?

Generally, there's an average of one top 15 quarterback that comes out every year.

You'd better pick the right one of the 15 that get drafted.

We would be 3-1 if the organization did its due diligence and upgraded Weeden in the off season.

Serious question, who was the available QB that could step right in and keep things rolling had they let Weeden walk?

who mean who was available at the time of Weedens signng. There was no gun to our head saying we had to sign him to begin with. As for letting him walk at anytime, pick any QB, you got the same result, which was the same result many told you would happen.

Again, and i point this out, Dallas chooses to ignore the back up QB position since the days of Garrett. Its actaully pretty silly since Garrett should know better. At this junction, i would be trying out any possible career back QB I could. In my eyes the season is over. Last night we told the rest of the NFCE, you might suck,(which i stil hear on the board about them) but let me make this god aweful clear to you , "this Garrett run team is way way suckier and we will stand proudly on that"

So to me, you start planning for your post Romo years and stop wasting talent on this team.

Ok, with who? then, last year, now, whenever? Id seriously like to know, I don't have a clue, it just doesn't seem like there are a lot of choices when it comes to back up QBs so while I like the idea of having a great one, I'd be curious to know who we passed on in lieu of Weeden.

As far as I can tell, all the options are pretty bad
